On March 25, 2024, San Francisco, California-based AI data management startup Foundational announced it has raised $8 million in seed funding, led by Viola Ventures and Gradient Ventures (Google's AI-focused investment fund), with participation from Asymmetry Capital Partners and founders and executives from companies including Datadog, Intuit, Meta, and Wiz.
The company plans to use the raised funds to drive further product development and market expansion.
Foundational was co-founded in 2022 by Alon Nafta (CEO), Barak Gargoun (CTO), and Omri Ildis (VP of R&D). The company's data management platform can automatically map and analyze data teams' code to identify potential issues, suggest fixes, and help prepare data for AI applications.
