What is DiffEditor
DiffEditor is an image editing tool based on a Diffusion Model proposed by the research teams of Peking University Shenzhen Graduate School and Tencent PCG. By introducing image prompts and text prompts, combined with Regional SDE (Regional Stochastic Differential Equation) and a time-travel strategy, it significantly improves the accuracy and flexibility of image editing. DiffEditor supports a variety of editing tasks, including object movement, resizing, and content dragging within a single image, as well as appearance replacement and object pasting across images.
Main Features of DiffEditor
- Fine-grained image editing: DiffEditor can perform a variety of fine-grained operations on images, including:
- Object movement and resizing: Users can select objects in an image to move or resize them.
- Content dragging: Users can perform precise content dragging on multiple pixels in an image.
- Cross-image editing: Supports object pasting and appearance replacement. Users can paste an object from one image into another, or replace the appearance of an object.
- Regional Stochastic Differential Equation (SDE) strategy: By injecting randomness into the editing region, DiffEditor can increase editing flexibility while maintaining content consistency in other regions.
- No additional training required: DiffEditor does not require additional training for each specific task, can achieve precise image processing, and improves editing efficiency.
- Efficiency and flexibility: Through an adaptive learning mechanism, DiffEditor can automatically adjust parameters according to different editing needs, adapting to various complex image editing tasks.
Technical Principles of DiffEditor
- Combination of image prompts and text prompts: DiffEditor is the first to introduce image prompts, combining them with text prompts to provide more detailed descriptions for edited content. It can significantly improve editing quality, especially in complex scenes.
- Regional Stochastic Differential Equation (Regional SDE) strategy: To improve editing flexibility, DiffEditor proposes a Regional SDE strategy. By injecting randomness into the editing region while maintaining content consistency in other regions, it achieves more natural editing effects.
- Time-travel strategy: To further improve editing quality, DiffEditor introduces a time-travel strategy. This strategy establishes cyclic guidance within a single diffusion time step, refining the editing effect in this way, thereby improving editing flexibility while maintaining content consistency.
- Automatic generation of editing masks: DiffEditor can automatically generate editing masks based on text prompts, highlighting the regions that need to be edited. This avoids the cumbersome operation of users manually providing masks and significantly improves editing efficiency.
- Diffusion sampling and regional guidance: DiffEditor combines Stochastic Differential Equation (SDE) and Ordinary Differential Equation (ODE) sampling, further optimizing the editing effect through regional gradient guidance and a time-travel strategy.
