On April 11, 2024, Boston-based AI drug discovery startup DeepCure announced it has raised $24 million in Series A-1 funding, led by IAG Capital Partners with participation from existing investors.
The company plans to use the raised funds to advance projects in immunology and inflammation, and to expand its artificial intelligence and automation capabilities for small molecule drug discovery.
DeepCure was founded in 2018 by researchers from MIT, aiming to use artificial intelligence and AI-supported technologies to innovate small molecule discovery and accelerate breakthrough therapies. DeepCure has built an AI- and physics-based generative engine to innovate the discovery of small molecule therapies targeting challenging targets. The engine can map potential interaction sites on protein surfaces and design novel synthesizable molecules with lead-like properties. In addition, DeepCure has developed an automated chemical synthesis platform to increase the speed, quantity, and diversity of molecules tested.
