About this skill

Business Plan Pitch Deck Skill

Create polished, investor-facing business plan / fundraising presentation decks, following a proven professional template style.

When to Use

Use this skill when:

  • The user needs to create a pitch deck or business plan presentation for investors
  • The user needs to generate company overview slides including market analysis and financial projections
  • The user mentions needs such as startup fundraising, investment memorandum presentations, etc.
  • The user needs fundraising pitch materials in the style of Chinese startups (navy blue + white background)

Do NOT use this skill if:

  • The user only needs a BP outline rather than an editable PPT → use fundraising-bp-planner instead
  • The user needs to generate a standard 10-page PPTX from structured JSON → use pitch-deck-creator instead
  • The user needs to convert an existing PPT into web page HTML → use deck-web-converter instead
  • The user needs a specific narrative framework (Sequoia/YC/Raskin) → use the corresponding framework skill

Typical triggers:

  • "Help me make a fundraising PPT", "How to make a business plan", "Pitch materials"
  • "pitch deck PPT", "business plan presentation", "investor deck"

Workflow

This workflow follows a six-step progression method, with a total of 6 steps:

  1. Probe: Before starting, fully read all inputs to confirm the goals and constraints.
  2. Constrain: Verify input completeness, set boundaries and non-degradable delivery standards, and switch channels when blocked.
  3. Evidence: Every number must come from the input, a specific source, or reproducible calculation; collect supporting data.
  4. Execute: Call scripts/APIs/generate content; give impacts and conclusions first, then actions and necessary evidence.
  5. Verify: Verify with actions that "could fail"—read back the output in a way different from the generation path.
  6. Deliver: Return the results and clean up temporary files.

Step 1: Probe

Fully read all inputs provided by the user (company introduction, existing documents, reference PDFs, etc.), and confirm the goals and constraints:

  • Company name, logo, tagline
  • Industry/track
  • Funding round and target amount
  • Key metrics (revenue, growth rate, profit margin, team size, number of patents)
  • Product/service description + images (if any)
  • Competitive landscape (3-5 peers)
  • Financial projections (3-5 years)
  • Team introduction + photos
  • Market size/TAM data

If the user provides a text introduction or existing documents, extract the above information from them.

Step 2: Constrain

Verify input completeness, set boundaries and non-degradable delivery standards:

  • Default outputPPTX(editable presentation); when the user explicitly specifies a format, use that format
  • When the user asks for a "shareable"/"final" version, PDF can also be provided
  • All content pages use a white background (#FFFFFF), never use a dark background
  • The primary color is navy blue #1B3A6B; green is used only for secondary data series in charts
  • The reference template uses a flat structure, with no transition pages between the main sections.no transition pages, do not add section divider pages.
  • When blocked, switch channels; do not downgrade deliverables.

Step 3: Evidence

Every number must come from the input, a specific source, or a reproducible calculation:

  • Market size data must cite its source (industry reports, public data; self-calculated figures must state assumptions)
  • Financial projections must be based on user-provided data or explicitly labeled as assumptions
  • Competitor information in the competitive landscape must be verifiable
  • Collect supporting data; do not fabricate traction, market size, customer evidence, or team background

Step 4: Execute

Call scripts/generate content; give impact and conclusions first, then actions and necessary evidence.

Plan the slide structure

Map the user's content to the standard section flow. Read references/structure_contract.md for the complete hierarchy and layout patterns. The default 14-section flow is as follows:

  1. Cover — Company logo + investor branding + impactful visual
  2. Investment Highlights — 6-grid display of core selling points
  3. Market Opportunity — Market size chart + growth logic
  4. Industry Landscape — Competitor map/peer comparison
  5. Company Positioning — Strategic pillars/value proposition
  6. Core Competitiveness — Advantage matrix
  7. Product Portfolio — Product overview + technical architecture
  8. Technical Differentiation — Technology roadmap comparison + parameter table
  9. Team Introduction — Founder + core team + advisory board
  10. Growth Projections — Revenue/order projection charts
  11. Vision/Roadmap — Multi-stage strategic planning
  12. Financing Plan — Financing needs + allocation of funds
  13. Appendix — Supporting data, product images, detailed comparisons
  14. Disclaimer — Legal statement + contact information

Adaptation Rules: Skip sections for which the user has no relevant content. If the total number of slides exceeds 20, closely related sections may be merged. For seed-stage companies, Chapters 7-9 may be streamlined; for growth-stage companies, Chapters 10-12 should be more detailed.

Apply the visual style

Read references/style_contract.md for the complete style specification. Core rules:

  • Background: All content pages are white (#FFFFFF). Never use a dark background.
  • Color scheme: The primary color is navy #1B3A6B(dark blue). Greenonlyis used for secondary data series in charts (such as green bars for overseas/auxiliary data). Green is not used as a primary color.
  • Header: Each content page has a navy horizontal line (2px) below the title. The company logo is fixed in the upper right corner of each content page.
  • Data visualization: Bar/column charts'primary coloris navy blue. Green is used only for secondary data series. Donut charts use navy blue + green (or navy blue + gray).
  • Emphasis style: Key metrics are bold, with a font size 2-4pt larger than the surrounding text.
  • Summary banner: A full-width navy blue rectangle at the bottom of the page, with white text displaying the core conclusion.

Design each slide

For each slide, choose references/structure_contract.md the layout pattern defined in:

  • Grid highlights(Pattern A) — 3×2 cards, containing icons, titles, and two-line bullet summaries
  • Dual charts(Pattern B) — two charts side by side, with dark title bars
  • Comparison process(Pattern C) — horizontal arrow process + comparison table below
  • Strategic pillars(Pattern D) — vertically stacked: navy blue label capsules + bullet list per row
  • Three-column matrix(Pattern E) — three side-by-side modules + icon grid at the bottom
  • Top-bottom comparison(Pattern F) — top-bottom flowchart + callout boxes
  • Image grid(Pattern G) — three-column product images + captions
  • Bottom summary banner(Pattern H) — navy blue full-width summary banner

Design principles for each page:

  • One core message per page
  • Body text at most 40-50 Chinese characters or about 80 English words
  • 3-6 highlighted data points
  • Prioritize charts/diagrams over text bullets
  • Every point should be supported by data, charts, or sources

Step 5: Verify (Verify)

Verify with an action that "could fail"—read back the output in a way different from the generation path:

  • Ensure all content pages have a white background—no exceptions
  • Confirm navy blue is the primary color on all pages
  • Check that all charts use navy blue as the main fill color
  • Confirm the logo position (top right corner) is consistent on every content page
  • Confirm there is a navy blue underline below the title on each page
  • Verify that text does not overflow shape boundaries
  • Confirm team member photos are real photos, not generic icons
  • Confirm product images are real images, not placeholders
  • Do not add a "Strictly Confidential" watermark or footer

Step 6: Deliver (Deliver)

Return the result and clean up temporary files:

  • By default, deliver a PPTX file; if the user requests it, also provide a PDF
  • Tell the user the output file path
  • Explain that the file is editable and recommend that the user replace placeholders with actual data

Output

Supported output formats

Format Support Description
PPTX Primary format Default output; editable slides
PDF Supported Exported from PPTX, for distribution

Default output format selection

  1. If the user explicitly specifies a format, use that format.
  2. Otherwise, by default outputPPTX(editable presentation).
  3. If the user requests a "shareable"/"final" version, a PDF can also be provided.

Chinese Content Font Strategy

When the presentation contains Chinese text (default case):

  • Heading Font: Kaiti / STKaiti (alternative: Source Han Serif SC)
  • Body Font: Same as heading font (maintain consistency of a single font family)
  • English/Number Supplement: Arial (for English terms and numbers)
  • Bold Emphasis: Use the bold weight of that font, or switch to a Chinese font that supports bold (e.g., Microsoft YaHei Bold)

When the presentation is in pure English:

  • Heading Font: Georgia or Merriweather (serif, professional feel)
  • Body Font: Same font family as the heading
  • Emphasis/Bold: Use the bold weight of the same font family

Reference Sources

  • Reference Type: User-uploaded file (PDF)
  • Reference File Type: PDF (18-page startup financing pitch deck PPT for a Chinese power electronics company)
  • Valid Reference File Type: PPTX (slide presentation)
  • Primary Language: Simplified Chinese, interspersed with English technical terms
  • Reference fonts: Kaiti (STKaiti) for Chinese body text/titles; Arial for English/numbers; Microsoft YaHei Bold for emphasis

Guardrails

Anti-patterns

  • NEVER use a dark background—all content pages must be white (#FFFFFF)
  • Do NOT add section divider pages/transition pages—the reference template uses a flat structure
  • Do NOT use green as the primary color—green is only used for secondary data series in charts
  • NEVER fabricate traction, market size, customer evidence, team background, or financing terms
  • Do NOT add a "Strictly Confidential" watermark or footer
  • Do NOT use generic icons in place of real photos of team members or real product images

Constraints

  • All numbers must come from the input, specific sources, or reproducible calculations
  • Leave unknown values blank or mark them as to be confirmed; do not fabricate
  • When the total number of slides exceeds 20, merge closely related sections
  • Seed-stage companies may streamline Chapters 7-9; growth-stage companies should elaborate on Chapters 10-12
  • Body text should have at most 40-50 Chinese characters or about 80 English words per page
