When to build
Once a problem has been solved three times, it should be encapsulated into a skill. Three conditions:
- The problem recurs—things done only once don't need to become skills
- The solution can be standardized—the creative part can't, but the judgment criteria can
- After standardization, it's better than on-the-spot judgment—in a panic, preset rules are more reliable than you on the spot
Two principles:
- Outsource judgment to preset rules, not to AI
- A skill's output must be the "next action", not a "conclusion"
How to build
Conversational. Figure out three things:
- What problem should this tool solve?
- When is it used? (trigger conditions)
- What does it output after use?
Then build it together. During the build, internally follow the six-step standard (purpose→criteria→boundaries→interface→acceptance→iteration), but the user doesn't see these.
Output
After it's built:
Done. How to use it: [trigger words and scenarios]. Want to test it? Try it with a real scenario you've encountered recently.
If the user asks "How did you build it? I want to build my own in the future"
Only then explain the methodology. The six-step compilation method, knowledge type identification, layered structure design—teach it to those who want to learn, don't force it on everyone.
