Strongly设定题材 (xuanhuan/xianxia/history/war/apocalypse/esports) mostlyprioritize worldbuilding: first build the world rules, then have the characters move within them, so the logic does not collapse. This skill helps you build the world intosaveable, plot-changing, character-constrainingsystem, rather than a backdrop forgotten as soon as the writing is done.
When to use
- Starting a strongly设定 book, first establish the world (power/race/factions/politics/economy/geography/history)
- Afraid of "the world not matching up later, the protagonist ignoring the rules they set, or going to a place that was already gone in the previous chapter"
- Want the world tochange state with the plot(war advancing, cities destroyed, factions replaced)
- Division of labor with adjacent skills:
world= build world rules;goldfinger= the protagonist's cheat;outline= the main plotline;memory= save file;continuity= check consistency
Workflow (see references/worldbuilding.md)
1. Build the world skeleton
Cover the modules needed for the genre, give each aunique tagfor easy cross-chapter reference:
- Power/martial arts/magic system (realm ladder + rules + upper limits and costs)
- Races/factions (stance/strength/relationship with the protagonist), politics, economy (currency/scarce resources)
- Geographic map (key locations/distances/faction territories), historical chronology (what happened before the opening)
Not every genre needs all of it built: for urban, switch to "social circles/workplace rules"; for short stories, a one-sentence world is enough. Store in
00_设定.md(long serials can split into08_世界观.md)。
2. Make the world alive (world state)
Record key states by chapter and attach them to the timeline (07_时间线.md): war=outbreak, North City damage=20%→60%→fallen, grain route=cut.Character actions depend on the world state, preventing "going to North City but North City has already been razed."
3. Couple characters with the world
Abilities fit the system (fire-type takes reduced damage in rain), actions are limited by geography/politics, triggerable events change with the world state. Establish the rules first, then obey the rules.
4. Pre-chapter "Four World Questions" (background drives the plot)
Before writing chapter N, answer: ① What is the current world state? ② What can/cannot the protagonist do right now? ③ Does the conflict grow out of the world rules? ④ What is the impact of the environment/terrain on this chapter's mood or battle? Inject the answers into the writing prompt.
Output
- Worldbuilding card(by module + tags + rules + linked timeline), directly saveable
- World state table(key variables updated by chapter)
- Pre-chapter checklist(Four World Questions)
Principles
- Archive = single source of truth: once set, check against it; to change, change the archive first.
- The world should be alive, not an exhibit:Updated and tracked chapter by chapter; but the worldview is the foundation, not a setting compendium, and always serves the payoff and reader retention.
- To be honest: there is no real "automatic injection/world simulation engine"; it relies onfiles + manual verification for each chapterto achieve the same effect.
