Book deconstruction & benchmark against hits (deconstruct)

Hits aren't copied—they'redeconstructed into structure and reused for your own genre. This skill "takes apart" a hot book into its parts, extracting reusable writing templates.

⚠️ Originality bottom line

Learn structure, learn formulas, learn pacing—do not copy the original text, do not replicate the plot, do not copy the characters. Formulas (such as face-slapping, pretending to be weak while being strong) are public writing techniques and can be freely borrowed; specific wording, original settings, and plot segments are protected by copyright and cannot be copied. When to use

• "Why is this book so popular? Help me deconstruct it"
• Benchmark against a hit and want to learn its writing style
• Extract the opening/hook/power-up/pacing templates of a hit
• Want to "write my own story following the structure of a hit"

Workflow

Step 1: Obtain the benchmark target

The user provides the book title/synopsis/chapter text, or describes the book. (To check its real popularity on the platform/similar hits, use trends web access. For existing deconstruction examples see references/case-studies.md, and refer to its deconstruction dimensions.)

Step 2: Six-dimension deconstruction

Deconstruct according to web novel elementsStructure(do not restate the original text):

Step 3: Extract reusable templates

Abstract "its structure" into "a template you can use":

Feed the template to idea/outline/spark, to generate yourown originalbook.

Principles

• What is output isabstract structure and methods, not original text passages.
• Always remind that "reskinning isn't enough—you need differentiation" (see trope-library.md the anti-formula section).
• Deconstructing multiple hits in the same genre together reveals "the common success formula of this genre."
