What This Does
Based on the researcher's field of expertise, career stage, and research plan, search and filter research funding call information that matches. Extract the key points of the application guidelines and support the prioritization of applications.
Required Inputs
- Research Field: The researcher's field of expertise (e.g., machine learning, molecular biology, quantum physics)
- Keywords(Optional): Keywords related to the research theme
- Career Stage(Optional): Doctoral student, postdoc, assistant professor, associate professor, professor, etc.
- Desired Funding Amount Range(Optional): Desired annual research funding scale
- Application Timing(Optional): By when to look for opportunities that can be applied for (default: within the next 3 months)
What It Produces
- List of Funding Calls(In order of suitability)
- Call Name / Funding Agency
- Application Deadline
- Grant Amount (Annual / Total)
- Acceptance Rate (if publicly available)
- Suitability (High/Medium/Low) and Reason for Judgment
- Details of Each Call
- Eligibility
- Research Period
- Required Documents
- Key Points of Review Criteria
- Examples of Past Accepted Themes (if obtainable)
- Draft Application Schedule
- Preparation Schedule Counting Back from the Deadline
- Matters to Confirm Regarding Internal Deadlines, Department Deadlines, Institutional Approval, and e-Rad Approval

Procedure
1. Search of Funding Call Information Sources
Search the following information sources:
Comprehensive Search:
- e-Rad (Cross-ministerial R&D Management System): https://www.e-rad.go.jp/
- JSPS Funding Call Information: https://www.jsps.go.jp/j-grantsinaid/
- KAKENHI Funding Call Page
Major Funding Agencies:
- JSPS (KAKENHI, Research Fellowships, Overseas JSPS, etc.)
- JST (PRESTO, CREST, ERATO, ACT-X, etc.)
- AMED (Various R&D Programs)
- NEDO (Various R&D Programs)
- Competitive Funds from the Ministry of the Environment, MAFF, MIC, etc.
Private Grants:
- Research Grants from Various Foundations (Inamori Foundation, Toyota Foundation, Sumitomo Foundation, etc.)
- Japan Private School Promotion and Mutual Aid Corporation
2. Filtering
Filter the collected funding call information under the following conditions:
- Field Compatibility: Whether the research field is included in the call's scope
- Eligibility Requirements: Whether career stage, age limits, nationality requirements, etc. are met
- Funding Scale: Whether the desired funding amount range matches the grant amount of the call
- Timing: Whether the application deadline falls within the specified period
- Duplicate Restrictions: Whether it conflicts with KAKENHI duplicate restriction rules (e.g., cannot combine Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research (A) + (B))
3. Suitability Assessment
Assess suitability for each call for proposals:
| Suitability | Criteria |
|---|---|
| High | Research theme matches the call's priority areas, all eligibility requirements are met, funding scale is appropriate |
| Medium | Research theme is broadly included, eligibility requirements are met, funding scale roughly matches |
| Low | Relevance of the theme is somewhat weak, or some requirements need confirmation |
4. Extraction of Detailed Information
For calls for proposals with suitability of "High" or "Medium", extract the following from the call guidelines:
- Details of eligibility
- Review criteria and scoring (if disclosed)
- Page count and format of the research plan
- Required attachments
- Past adoption rates and number of adopted projects
5. Creation of Application Schedule
Create a backward schedule for each call for proposals:
公式締切の8週間前: 申請書ドラフト着手
公式締切の6週間前: 第1稿完成、内部レビュー依頼
公式締切の4週間前: レビュー反映、第2稿
公式締切の2週間前: 最終稿、学内事務手続き開始
学内締切(公式の1-2週間前): 学内提出
公式締切: e-Rad 提出
The above are provisional standard examples, and the actual internal deadline, department deadline, and institutional approval deadline should be confirmed with your institution. For calls for proposals to be kept as application candidates, make the following information available to pass to internal-deadline-tracker .

Quality Standards
- The URL of the call information is valid and links to the official page
- The application deadline is accurate (do not mistake the fiscal year)
- Information on duplicate restrictions is accurate
- The determination of eligibility is conservative (if ambiguous, clearly state "confirmation required")
- For statistics such as adoption rates, specify the source fiscal year
- Since internal deadlines differ by institution, do not assert them as fixed values; note the contact point and confirmation deadline
- For application candidates, organize the external deadline, submission method, recommendation quota, e-Rad approval, and presence of collaborating institutions so they can be passed to
internal-deadline-tracker.
