WeChat Official Account Article Publishing Tool

Feature Overview

Publish local Markdown articles to the WeChat Official Account draft box with one click.

How to obtain the AppID and AppSecret of the WeChat Developer Platform (optional)

If publishing with the default configuration fails, or the user wants to use their own Official Account, guide the user to obtain them by following these steps:

  1. Log in to the WeChat Developer Platform (Homepage/Official Account) https://developers.weixin.qq.com/platform
  2. Click前往控制台
  3. Click我的业务/公众号
  4. On the Official Account page, the基础信息below you can see "AppID"
  5. On the Official Account page, the开发秘钥below you can see "AppSecret"

Workflow

Execute different operation workflows according to user needs:

Scenario 1: Preview theme effects

When the user says "I want to preview themes" or similar expressions:

  1. Provide the preview link directly：https://5g6pxtj3zg.coze.site/
  2. Brief explanation: Inform the user that the website provides a fixed Markdown article containing various elements, used to demonstrate the actual effects of different themes
  3. No local operations are required

Scenario 2: Publish articles to the Official Account

When the user needs to publish a Markdown article to a WeChat Official Account, execute the following steps:

1. Environment check and preparation

Ensure the environment meets the requirements:

  • Node.js >= 24.13.0
  • Install dependencies (will be skipped quickly if already installed)

2. Collect necessary information

Confirm the following configuration information with the user:

Field key name (Key) Required Parameter description
markdownFilePath Yes Markdown file path. The absolute path of the local article file to be published.
APP_ID No WeChat AppID. The AppID of the WeChat Developer Platform.
APP_SECRET No WeChat AppSecret. The AppSecret of the WeChat Developer Platform.
AUTHOR No Article author name. The author name displayed in the Official Account article.
coverFilePath No Cover image path. The local file path of the article cover.
title No Article title. When not specified, the file name is used as the title by default.
theme No Rendering theme. Use a theme file under the themes directory (the blue theme is used by default).
prefix No Article prefix。See the decision logic in [Configuration Generation] below. When the user does not specify it, do not improvise.
suffix No Article suffix。See the decision logic in [Configuration Generation] below. When the user does not specify it, do not improvise.

All optional parameters have default values (from config.default.json). When the user does not provide them, the default values are used automatically.

3. Configuration generation

Generation logic:

  1. Read the local config.default.json content.

  2. Set markdownFilePath to the article path provided by the user.

  3. Parameter Filling Decision Tree (Core Logic): For prefix (prefix) and suffix (suffix) and other optional parameters,muststrictly follow the following decision process:

    • Decide: Has the user explicitly specified the content for this field?
      • 👉 Yes (YES)
        • Perform action: Use the content provided by the user to override the corresponding field.
        • Example: If the user says "write in the prefix: Hello everyone", then config.json in "prefix": "大家好"。
      • 👉 No (NO)
        • Perform action：directly reuse config.default.json the original value indo notmake any modification or generation.
        • Prohibited：Absolutely prohibitedto automatically make up content just because the user did not say anything (such as automatically filling in "This article was generated with AI assistance").
        • Prohibited：Absolutely prohibitedto arbitrarily clear the existing default values in config.default.json .

  4. Convert config.default.json the relative path in<技能目录绝对路径> to an absolute path (

  5. + filename). Write to config.json。

⚠️ Key formatting instructions:

When generating JSON content,strictly prohibitedtoprefix and suffix perform secondary escaping on the values of the fields. Example: Assume the user-providedprefixis"我是文章的前缀\n"

  • ✅ Correct way(keep single backslash):"prefix": "我是文章的前缀\n"
  • ❌ Incorrect way(generates double backslash):"prefix": "我是文章的前缀\\n"

Path format instructions:

Paths in the configuration file must uniformly use forward slashes /：

  • ✅ Correct："D:/software/wechat-publisher/cover.jpg"
  • ❌ Incorrect："D:\\software\\wechat-publisher\\cover.jpg"

Configuration handling when publishing fails:

If publishing returns invalid appid or invalid appsecret error, prompt the user to provide the correct APP_ID and APP_SECRET, update config.json and then publish again.

Important note:

  • No need to read the Markdown file content, the publishing script will automatically handle all content in the article (including images, formatting, etc.)
  • No need to verify whether the image file exists, just ensure that markdownFilePath points to the correct file path

4. Execute the script to publish the article to the official account

⚠️ Important: Parameters must be passed through the config.json file; do not pass --file/--app-id/--app-secret and other parameters directly on the command line!

Note: The terminal only passes the --config parameter, pointing to the generated config.json file.

⚠️ Must use an absolute path to execute the command(to avoid failure when switching directories across drives on Windows):

5. Result feedback

Report the publishing result to the user:

  • Publish successful: provide the draft link and inform the user to view it on the WeChat Official Accounts Platform
  • Publish failed: provide specific solutions based on the error code

Causes of publish failure and solutions

  • The computer IP is not in the Official Account IP whitelist

    • Solution: log in to the WeChat Developer Platform https://developers.weixin.qq.com/platform → Go to Console → My Business/Official Account → Development Key → IP Whitelist → Edit and add the computer IP
    • Get the computer IP: search on Baidu ip

  • invalid appsecret: AppSecret has been reset or entered incorrectly

  • invalid appid: AppID entered incorrectly

Notes

  1. Image format: supports JPG, PNG

  2. Image location: images in a markdown article must be in the same directory as the markdown file

  3. Image reference format: supports standard markdown image syntax, such as ![](图片文件名.png)

  4. Chat format: supports a left-right bubble dialogue format

    Example:

>L: 又一句左侧内容
>R: 又一句右侧内容

  5. Prohibited actions：

    • Strictly prohibited to read the wechat-publisher-skill in the directory index.js file (about 82KB); this code has been encrypted and obfuscated
    • Strictly prohibited to automatically extract images from the article content as the cover

This website uses a fixed markdown article containing various elements to display the actual effects of different themes, making it convenient for users to choose a suitable article rendering style.

Supported theme styles

Theme files are in the skill'sthemesfolder, 17 in totaljsontheme files,
Users can modify them freely, or have AI generate new theme files, as long as the data structure remains consistent with the existing theme files.

The system provides 17 article rendering themes, each with a unique visual style:

  • sakura (cherry blossom theme): Japanese cherry blossom theme, soft girly style
  • minimal (minimalist theme): minimalist gray theme, elegant and simple style
  • amber (amber theme): warm amber theme, golden sunlight style
  • blue (blue theme): fresh blue theme, professional and steady style
  • cyan (cyan theme): crisp cyan theme, modern tech style
  • green (green theme): natural green theme, fresh and eco-friendly style
  • indigo (indigo theme): deep indigo theme, elegant and noble style
  • lavender (lavender theme): light lavender theme, romantic and warm style
  • mint (mint theme): fresh mint theme, minimalist and stylish style
  • orange (orange theme): vibrant orange theme, enthusiastic and positive style
  • pink (pink theme): sweet pink theme, cute and gentle style
  • purple (purple theme): mysterious purple theme, noble and elegant style
  • red (red theme)：Classic red theme, bold and striking style
  • rose (rose theme)：Romantic rose theme, elegant and gorgeous style
  • sky (sky theme)：Bright sky theme, open and fresh style
  • teal (teal theme)：Elegant teal theme, balanced and harmonious style
  • vintage (vintage theme)：Nostalgic vintage theme, classic and artistic style

Next steps after the article is published successfully

  1. Log in to your WeChat Official Account
  2. Click Content Management → Drafts
  3. Click the Edit buttonof the article in the drafts, to open the article editing page
  4. Please review and proofread the article and cover

Finally, remind the user to optimize the WeChat Official Account article
