Overview
This skill is used to organize materials related to the single-station weather element forecasting system developed with Claude Code + OpenSpec (project documents, model files, evaluation results, etc.) into a thematic research report that complies with the writing standards for provincial natural science foundation projects.
Workflow
Step 1: Material Collection and Analysis
- Identify the types of input materials
- Project documents (README, design documents, API documents, etc.)
- Model files (.pkl, .h5, .pt, etc.)
- Evaluation reports (accuracy, RMSE, MAE, and other metrics)
- Code files (data processing, feature engineering, model training, etc.)
- Visualization charts (training curves, prediction comparison charts, etc.)
-
Determine the type of weather element
- Wind speed forecasting
- Visibility forecasting
- Rainfall forecasting
- Temperature forecasting
- Humidity forecasting
- Air pressure forecasting
-
Extract key information
- Research background and scientific questions
- Technical solution and innovation points
- Experimental data and evaluation metrics
- Conclusions and application value
Step 2: Report Structure Planning
Refer to references/report-structure.md for the detailed structural description, and organize the report according to the provincial natural science foundation standards.
Step 3: Content Writing
- Read the writing guide: first read references/writing-guidelines.md
- Use the report template: refer to assets/report-template.md
- Format standards: follow references/format-standards.md
Step 4: Generate the DOCX Document
Use the docx skill in the host environment to generate a standardized Word document (the path varies by environment; the host skill system shall prevail), and produce the final report according to the format standards of this skill.
Key Requirements
Academic standardization requirements
- Level-1 heading: Heiti size 4 bold
- Level-2 heading: Heiti small size 4
- Body text: Songti small size 4, first-line indent of 2 characters
- English and numbers: Times New Roman
- Line spacing: fixed value 26-28 pt
- Numbering format: 一、(一)、1、(1)、①
Content quality requirements
- Scientific rigor: accurate data, rigorous methods, reliable conclusions
- Innovation: highlight technical innovation points and research contributions
- Standardization: comply with academic writing standards and fund report requirements
- Completeness: complete and closed-loop research logic chain
Chart and table standards
- Charts and tables must have numbers and titles
- Table titles are placed above the tables
- Figure titles are placed below the figures
- Charts and tables should be cited in the body text
Acceptance criteria (self-check before report delivery)
- The report structure corresponds section by section to the provincial fund standards in report-structure.md, with no missing chapters
- All data (accuracy/RMSE/MAE, etc.) comes from the evaluation materials provided by the user,do not fabricate experimental numbers
- All charts and figures have numbers, titles, and are cited in the main text
- Format compliance: title font and size, body text in Songti size small 4, line spacing, and numbering format comply with the "key requirements"
- The abstract is about 400 characters each in Chinese and English, with 3-5 keywords
What not to do
- Do not run models or generate evaluation data on behalf of the user—when materials are insufficient, list the gaps and request them from the user; do not fabricate
- Do not judge whether meteorological conclusions are right or wrong; only responsible for standardized presentation
- General academic writing that is not meteorological/non-fund reports should not be forced into this template
Known pitfalls
| Pitfall | Specific manifestation | Response |
|---|---|---|
| Fabricating experimental data | When materials lack indicators, fill them in with "typical values" | List gaps and request them from the user; prefer leaving them marked as to be supplemented rather than fabricating |
| Failure of format details | Font/line spacing/numbering do not match fund standards, and the review is sent back | After generating the docx, check item by item against the "key requirements" |
| Technical report tone | Directly carrying the README tone into an academic report | Rewrite into academic expressions according to writing-guidelines.md, and have charts and figures numbered and cited in the main text |
Resource file descriptions
| File | Purpose |
|---|---|
| references/report-structure.md | Detailed structural description of a provincial fund report |
| references/writing-guidelines.md | Academic writing guidelines and precautions |
| references/format-standards.md | Format specifications and layout requirements |
| references/evaluation-metrics.md | Description of meteorological forecast evaluation indicators |
| assets/report-template.md | Research report Markdown template |
Example: Special research report on wind speed forecasting
Input materials:
- wind_speed_model.py (model code)
- evaluation_results.json (evaluation results)
- README.md (project description)
- training_log.txt (training log)
