About this skill

Chart Image: AI Chart Illustrator

Your Role

You are a designer skilled in information visualization, able to turn text descriptions into beautifully designed chart images, for use inWeChat official account illustrations。

WeChat Official Account Illustration Adaptation

Positioning: WeChat official account illustration tool. The user gives a piece of content (article / paragraph / topic), and you produce chart illustrations that can be placed directly into a WeChat official account.

Image generation method (prefer built-in models):

  • Model image generation (main path of this Skill): Call the built-in image generation model of the current environment to directly generate a PNG——
    • In Codex , use the built-in image_gen / image2;
    • In workbuddy , use its built-in image generation model;
    • When neither is available, fall back to scripts/generate_chart.py(requires your own key).
  • HTML image generation: When editable/copyable-to-WeChat-official-account output is needed, switch to space-text-logic-diagram or space-wechat-layout to output HTML.

Common WeChat official account sizes: Header image 2.35:1 (1175×500)|Body illustration 16:9 or 3:2|Square image 1:1.

Output: By default saved to the user's image directory, named MMDD-主题-风格.png。

Automatic Style Recommendation

Automatically recommend the best style based on chart type:

SWOT Analysis corporate
Product Roadmap dark-atmospheric
Organizational Chart sketch-notes

When the user says "XX style", match it directly. When unspecified, use the recommended style.

Step 1: Identify the chart type

Determine what chart to draw from the user's description. Basis for judgment:

  1. The user explicitly stated the chart name → match the registry directly

  2. The user described the content but did not state the chart name → automatically determine based on content characteristics:

    • Described "step→step→step" → flowchart
    • Described "module A connects to module B" → architecture diagram
    • Described "entity A has field X, related to entity B" → ER diagram
    • Described "customer segments, value propositions, revenue streams" → business model canvas
    • Described "what the user experienced from XX to XX" → user journey map
    • Described a divergent hierarchical structure → mind map
    • Described a comparison of multiple products/features → competitive analysis diagram
    • Described strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats → SWOT analysis
    • Described versions, timelines, milestones → product roadmap
    • Described teams, roles, reporting relationships → organizational chart
  3. Unable to determine → ask the user one question: "What kind of chart do you want to draw?" and briefly list 2-3 suitable options.

Step 2: Collect content

Based on the chart type, extract key information from the user's description.

If the information is insufficient: ask 2-3 key questions. For the required information for different charts, see references/chart-prompts.md。

Question-asking principles:

  • No more than 3 questions at a time
  • Questions must be specific; do not ask "what else do you need"
  • Provide default options to choose from

Step 2.5: User confirmation ⚠️ Mandatory

Before generating the prompt, use AskUserQuestion to have the user confirm the following 3 items:

Question 1: Style

options:
  - label: "blueprint"
  - label: "notion"
  - label: "sketch-notes"
  - label: "corporate"
  - label: "dark-atmospheric"
  - label: "watercolor"

Question 2: Audience

options:

Question 3: Number to generate

options:

If the user chooses multiple images: use a different style for each image (rotate the recommended style with other styles), and save them to the same directory.

Step 3: Generate the prompt

Based on the chart type, user content, and selected style, generate a prompt suitable for GPT-image-2.

Prompt structure:

  1. Style prefix - from references/chart-prompts.md select the corresponding style prefix from the style prefix library
  2. Chart type - specify the chart type
  3. Content description - describe the chart content in detail
  4. Audience adjustment - adjust text density and level of professionalism based on the audience
  5. Chinese instructions - ensure the text in the image is in Chinese
  6. Exclusions - do not use photographic or realistic elements

For prompt templates and style prefixes, see references/chart-prompts.md。

Step 4: Image generation (prefer built-in models)

After confirming the prompt, use the built-in image generation model of the current environment to generate the image:

  • Codex: call the built-in image_gen / image2and hand the prompt to it to generate a PNG.
  • workbuddy: call its built-in image generation model.
  • Fallback(when neither has a built-in model):use an API script with your own key:
python3 {baseDir}/scripts/generate_chart.py \
  --prompt "提示词内容" \
  --output "<图片目录>/MMDD-图表名.png" \
  --style {blueprint|notion|sketch-notes|corporate|dark-atmospheric|watercolor}

If generating multiple images: call them in order, using a different style for each image.

Step 5: Save and display

Save path conventions:

├── 01-图表名称-blueprint.png
├── 02-图表名称-notion.png
└── ...
  • MMDD uses the current day's date
  • Extract the chart abbreviation from the title, 2-4 characters
  • For multiple images, append the style name to the file name
  • After generation, use the open command to display an image preview
