  • Type: Uploaded reference materials (two reference PDFs)
  • Reference material type:PDF
  • Reference file format:PDF
  • Primary language: English (Latin alphabet)
  • Reference fonts: Times New Roman (narrative memo), Helvetica (deal memo)

Supported output formats

Format Support status
DOCX Primary format (default)
PDF Supported
PPTX Supported (summary/presentation format only)

Default output: Output DOCX unless the user explicitly requests another format.

Output philosophy

The investment memos in both reference materials areplain, text-centric documents—black text on white, no cover page, no colored backgrounds, no decorative borders, no fancy design elements. The layout should be "invisible", letting the analysis itself carry all the weight.

Workflow overview

  1. Determine the memo type—thematic memo (default) vs. venture capital deal memo vs. public market equity memo
  2. Gather input information—company name, ticker symbol, industry, data provided by the user
  3. Conduct the analysis—refer to references/analysis_framework.md
  4. Write the content—follow the structural requirements of references/structure_contract.md structural requirements
  5. Apply formatting—follow the style specifications of references/style_contract.md style specifications
  6. Generate the file—output in the format requested by the user (DOCX by default)

Memo type selection

Trigger phrases/scenarios Memo type Primary reference style Heading style
"Investment thesis on AI", "write about an industry/theme", "market outlook", "bubble?" Thematic memo Narrative style Underline
"Invest in a company", "deal memo", "venture capital memo", "seed round/Series A" Venture capital deal memo Deal style Bold
"Stock analysis", "equity research", "public company" Public market equity memo Hybrid style Underline or bold
"Due diligence", "DD memo", "investment committee" Investment committee memo Deal style Bold

Core style rules

Please read references/style_contract.md for the complete specifications. The following rules must not be violated:

  • No cover page—the document begins directly with the memo header information
  • No color—the entire document strictly follows black text on a white background
  • Times New Roman(or an equivalent serif font) forall text—body text, headings, quotations, footers, captions
  • No header—leave the header blank
  • No decorative rules, borders, or background fills—do not use gray backgrounds or colored decorative bars
  • No decorative elements—do not use geometric shapes, logos, or quote blocks with a left border
  • Quote blocks: use indented italic text only, with no border or background
  • No formal tables—present data as inline text or bulleted lists; use tables only when absolutely necessary, and with the simplest layout
  • Footer: copyright notice on the left, page number in the center, "All Rights Reserved" on the right

Section heading styles

Narrative/thematic memos(default):

  • Useunderlined texton its own line:理解AI、AI能思考吗?
  • No numbering, no bold, no large font—same font size as body text, with underline only

Structured transaction memos:

  • Usebold texton its own line:简介、竞争分析、交易条款
  • No numbering, no large font

Structural specifications

Please read references/structure_contract.md for the complete document structure, including section hierarchy, header and footer rules, pagination behavior, and the three memo templates.

Key structural rules:

  • No table of contents
  • Thematic memoshave no executive summary(the opening paragraph serves this function)
  • Text flowscontinuouslybetween sections—no forced page breaks
  • Legal disclaimerat the end of the document, separated by a horizontal rule and set in italics
  • Number figures sequentially:Figure 1、Figure 2, and so on

Language style guide

Narrative/thematic memos

Write in the voice of a top-tier value/credit investor writing to limited partners: first person, conversational, intellectually honest. Use "I think," "I've been thinking about," "I recently learned." Pose thought-provoking questions, draw historical analogies, and openly acknowledge uncertainty.

Transaction memos

Write in the voice of a top-tier venture capital analyst: direct, concise, and point-oriented. State the facts quickly, lead with the conclusion and then elaborate. Every sentence should either advance the investment thesis or flag a risk.

Figure usage guide

Include figures when quantitative analysis helps strengthen the argument:

  • Present market size/growth data as inline text or a simple line chart
  • Present the competitive landscape as a bulleted list rather than a matrix chart
  • Present financial metrics as bold inline numbers or a bulleted list

Reference figures in the body text: "(see Figure 3)." Keep figures simple—prefer plain line charts.

Data Sourcing Strategy

When data is needed:

  1. Use available financial data sources to obtain listed company information (share prices, financial data, valuation metrics)
  2. Obtain company-specific information and market data through web searches
  3. Cite data sources in the text—citing external data enhances credibility
  4. Clearly mark missing data rather than fabricating figures

Confidentiality Marking

Add a confidentiality footer only when the memorandum contains non-public information:

  • "Confidential—For Internal Use Only"—for investment committee memoranda
  • "Highly Confidential"—for materials on active transactions
  • Omit the confidentiality marking for public thematic memoranda intended for broad distribution

Notes on Each Output Format

DOCX (Default)

Generate a native Word document that includes:

  • Times New Roman font applied uniformly to all text elements
  • Underlined section headings (narrative style) or bold headings (structured style)
  • Memorandum header information block, separated by a horizontal divider line
  • Page numbers centered in the footer
  • Copyright notice and rights statement placed in the footer
  • Body text left-aligned
  • Standard bulleted list formatting
  • Italicized indented paragraphs for quotations
  • Horizontal divider line before the legal disclaimer section

PDF

Render the DOCX as a PDF, preserving all typographic formatting. The final product should match the plain, text-focused appearance of the two reference memoranda.

PPTX (Summary Presentation Deck)

When the user requests a slide presentation rather than a memorandum document:

  • Condense each major section into 1-2 slides
  • Present the investment thesis on the title page
  • Use bullet points rather than paragraphs
  • Include 1-2 key charts per slide
  • End with a recommendations/next steps slide
  • Use Times New Roman font throughout, black text on a white background, plain layout
