Trend Scout

insane-searchbenchmarking the public source strategy of, and compiling "what's trending now" as Threads post candidates.

This skill broadly scans multiple sources to pick today's topic candidates, curation-only. It is not scoped as research that goes deep on a single topic — if you need a multi-source fact-check report, route to deep-research, and if you need recent 30-day public opinion/reactions on one topic, route to last30days.

Workflow

1. Data collection

2. First-pass screening

By default, look at topics[]; for compatibility, items[]also has the same content.

source: which channel it came from (reddit, hackernews, clien, npm, bluesky 등)
channel: subreddit/feed/tag/board
trend_score: weighted score for cross-source comparison
summary: selftext/description/body summary

3. Supplement only when lacking

Only when the default queue is insufficient, add external search like Exa.

When the user explicitly asks to mix in sites not in the default queue

4. Filtering

Criteria:

Reddit upvote 10+ (small subreddits 5+)
HN score 50+
Lobsters score 8+
dev.to reactions 20+
Apply GitHub new repo stars floor
Korean communities/RSS selected by location score + topicality
Exclude: spam, job postings, announcements, motivational posts without specifics

Curation priorities:

Real numbers (MRR, user count, revenue, downloads)
Counterintuitive insights
Actionable strategies
Failure/lesson cases

Within 500 characters
Conversational Korean
Lead with the key point
Include numbers/context
1 original link

6. Output

3-5 recommended posts:
