About this skill

This skill takes the current conversation context and codebase understanding and generates a PRD. Do not interview the user—just synthesize what you already know.

Process

  1. If you have not already explored the repository, explore it to understand the current state of the codebase. Use the project's domain glossary terms throughout the PRD, and respect any ADRs for the areas you are modifying.

  2. Outline the main modules you need to build or modify to complete the implementation. Actively look for opportunities to extract deep modules that can be tested independently.

Sketch out the major modules you will need to build or modify to complete the implementation. Actively look for opportunities to extract deep modules that can be tested in isolated.

A deep module (as opposed to a shallow module) is one that encapsulates a large amount of functionality behind a simple, testable, and rarely changing interface.

Confirm with the user that these modules match their expectations. Confirm with the user which modules they want tests written for.

  1. Write the PRD using the template below, then publish it to the project issue tracker. Apply the ready-for-agent triage label—no additional triage is needed.

Exception: if the prototype produced a snippet that encodes a decision more precisely than words can (state machine, reducer, schema, type shape), inline it within the relevant decision and briefly note that it came from the prototype. Trim it down to the decision-rich parts—not a runnable demo, just the important parts.
