Connection parameters (required)
Unpacking EPF/ERF requires an infobase with a configuration. Without a base, reference types are irretrievably lost.
- Read
.v8-project.jsonfrom the project root and resolve the base: - If the user specified connection parameters (path, server) — use them directly
- If they specified a base by name — search by id / alias / name in
.v8-project.json - If they did not specify — match the current Git branch with
databases[].branches - If the branch did not match — use
default - If
.v8-project.jsonis missing or the base was not found — report an error to the user. For dump, a base is required: in an empty base, reference types (CatalogRef, DocumentRef, etc.) are irretrievably reset to strings. Suggest specifying a base or registering via/db-list add.
Platform — v8path of the found base record, otherwise the root v8path. If it is not set in either place — -V8Path do not pass.
If the base used is not registered — after execution, suggest adding it via /db-list add.

Use the shared script from epf-dump:

*— at least one connection is required. Without a database, the script will fail with an error (a dump into an empty database irreversibly loses reference types)
