Overview
Video frame rate increase / frame interpolation (e.g., 24fps → 60fps), making low-frame-rate video motion smoother. Covers smoothing old videos, frame interpolation for gaming/sports videos, and smooth processing for slow-motion effects. Video duration stays the same, only the frame rate is increased.
Not handled: comprehensive image quality restoration, super-resolution, video denoising, speed change / duration change, editing / splicing.
API Mapping
| Scenario | API name |
|---|---|
| Video frame interpolation / frame rate increase | video_framerate_enhance |

Trigger signals and routing
| User's words | Routing |
|---|---|
| Frame interpolation / frame insertion / increase frame rate / 60 frames / 120 frames / smooth | video_framerate_enhance |
| "Make the video a bit smoother" (ambiguous intent) | Light confirmation "Do you want frame interpolation to make the motion smoother, or overall image quality restoration?" |
Single API tool: call when parameters are complete; after a failure, retry once and then return an error.
Parameter definitions
| Parameter | Type | Required | Range | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
video_url |
STRING | Yes | — | — | Video address |
frame_rate |
NUMBER | No | 24 / 30 / 60 | 60 | Target frame rate (fps) |
Notes:
- Target frame rate ≤ original frame rate → do not call, directly return the original video and inform the user
- Video duration stays the same, only the frame rate is increased
Tool invocation
meitu video-framerate-enhance --video_url {url} [--frame_rate 60] --json --download-dir {output_dir} --skill_name skill_video-framerate-enhance
Error fallback
| Scenario | Handling |
|---|---|
video_url missing |
Prompt "Please provide the video link that needs frame interpolation" |
video_url inaccessible |
Do not retry, prompt "Please provide a valid video link" |
| Target frame rate ≤ original frame rate | Do not call, directly return the original video and inform the user |
frame_rate illegal value (e.g., 50/90) |
Clamp to the nearest legal value (24/30/60) |
| User says "smoother" without specifying a frame rate | Default frame_rate=60 |
| API call failed / timed out | Retry once; if it still fails, return an error |
| Content compliance interception | Directly return a compliance prompt, do not retry |
| User says "speed change / slow motion" | Inform the user that this tool does not support speed change, only frame rate increase |
| Input is an image | Reject; only videos are supported |
