Steps
1. Install
uv tool install notebooklm-mcp-cli
nlm --version
2. Log in
Ask the user to run it themselves in a normal, visible PowerShell window (do not repeatedly run it in the AntiGravity background terminal):
$env:PYTHONUTF8 = '1'
nlm config set auth.browser chrome
nlm login --profile default
(This opens a separate Chrome window managed by nlm ; select the correct Google account to complete login. This is a third-party CLI session login, not AntiGravity's MCP OAuth button.)
3. Verify
nlm doctor
nlm list
If Windows has a CP950 encoding error: first run $env:PYTHONUTF8 = '1' then run it again
4. Register MCP
First give advance notice that the AntiGravity MCP settings will be modified and get confirmation, then use the built-in AntiGravity settings command in nlm :
$env:PYTHONUTF8 = '1'
nlm setup add antigravity
The settings will be written to the workspace .agents/mcp_config.json or the global ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json. After completion, restart AntiGravity or use /mcp to reload, then ask it to list the number of notebooks to verify.
- If there is already a
commandserver pointing tonotebooklm-mcp, do not run it again to avoid duplication. - The older
"command": ["nlm", "mcp"]is the OpenCodeopencode.jsonsyntax and does not apply to AntiGravity 2.
⚠️ Do not copy cookies/tokens, and do not commit the notebook list to the repo.
