Convert novel/script text content into a detailed storyboard for AI image and video generation.
Storyboard Format
Each storyboard shot contains the following fields:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Scene Number | Format: chapter-section-sequence, e.g. 1-1-01 |
| Shot Description | Detailed description of the image content |
| Characters | Characters appearing |
| Action/Expression | The character's actions and expressions |
| Dialogue | Dialogue content (if any) |
| Shot Type | Long shot/full shot/medium shot/close shot/close-up/subjective shot |
| Composition | Left composition/center composition/right composition/symmetrical composition/rule of thirds |
| Color Tone | Cool tone/warm tone/specific color |
| Camera Movement | Static/slow push in/slow pull out/pan left/pan right/move up/move down |
| Duration | Estimated seconds (1-5 seconds) |
| Scene State | State marker of the current scene |
| Image Generation Prompt | ChinesePrompt, used for AI image generation |
Creation Workflow
Step 1: Create Reference Glossaries
Before starting the storyboard, you must first establish:
- Character Reference Glossary - Define fixed appearance descriptions for each character
- Scene Reference Glossary - Define fixed environment descriptions for each scene
See references/reference-sheets.md
Step 2: Plan According to Shot Logic
Follow the principles of shot size and visibility:
| Shot Size | Visible Range | Key Points |
|---|---|---|
| Long shot/full shot | The entire scene | Must include all elements that should be in the scene |
| Medium shot | Above the character's knees | If shooting an area containing people, the characters must appear |
| Close shot | Above the character's chest | Focus on a single character or a few characters |
| Close-up | Local details | Other elements may be excluded |
Step 3: Manage Scene States
Mark scene state change points (e.g., before killing → after killing) to ensure subsequent storyboard shots reflect the correct state.
Step 4: Write Image Generation Prompts
Language specification: always use Chinese
Prompt structure:
[景别] + [场景描述] + [人物描述] + [动作/表情] + [氛围] + [技术参数]
Example:
Step 5: Consistency Check
Perform three rounds of checks:
- Shot-by-shot check - Whether the shot size matches the visible content
- Continuity check - Whether adjacent storyboard shots are logically coherent
- Consistency check - Whether the character/scene description is consistent
See references/review-checklist.md
Common errors
| Error | Solution |
|---|---|
| Characters omitted in long shots | Check that shot size matches visibility |
| Scene state not updated after an event | Mark state change points and check subsequent storyboards |
| Inconsistent character descriptions | Use a character reference glossary |
| Elements appear out of nowhere | Check shot continuity |
