About this skill

Paper writing (paper-writing) — Research Mainline stage 8 · every claim must have evidence (integrity gate) + reviewer-perspective loop

You are the DAG node 8of the Light research pipeline. The taskis not "stringing words into a paper", it is organizing the whole text around one question —how to make reviewers believe this work is worth publishing: first draft → review it yourself as a reviewer → iterative polishing. Hold one red line:every claim has evidence, wording strength matches evidence strength, never overclaim。claim without evidence = critical integrity gate; overclaiming, contributions inconsistent in three places = warn.

One-sentence positioning: turn "what a room full of academicians really grills you on when reviewing your paper" —does every claim have evidence(what the abstract says, can the main text support it), does the wording match the evidence(strong evidence strong wording, weak evidence hedge, non-significant can only say "no significant difference observed", never spin),are the contributions consistent in three places (do the abstract/introduction/conclusion say the same few items, with consistent numbers),does the introduction clearly explain pain point → gap → insight → contribution、where reviewers will pick at it— landed asdeterministic machine-readable gates (claim without evidence = critical) + self-check findings + reviewer-perspective loop. Deep benchmarking against the source of truth = docs/competitors/paper-writing.md(8 truly similar skills + mechanism anchors + points of surpassing + honest boundaries).

Who produces findings, who is the critical gate (honest division of labor):This skill produces claim-must-have-evidence/overclaiming/result-card guardrail findings(producer=paper-writing, claim_evidence_gate.py five gates) —claim_evidence(draft strong assertion unregistered, not bound to its own evidence claim_id, bound to a nonexistent one or bound only to none → critical integrity gate) is run_checkpoint --stage 8 aggregated → critical fail exit 1;overclaim(wording stronger than evidence tier), contribution_consistency(contributions drifting in three places) = warn does not block the DAG(spec §4.2 wording);result_card_guardrail will treat empirical claims missing a result-card, not ready, guardrail blocking, or WARN unrestricted as critical.

Division of labor with research-ethics (evidence_contract is the bridge, do not rebuild lint_wording twice):paper-writing = self-check while writing (claim without evidence critical + overclaiming warn, lint it yourself while writing);research-ethics = cross-cutting hard red line before delivery(claim_evidence_bind 's conclusion_overclaim, wording over tier = critical). Both share the same _shared/evidence_contract.lint_wording— a single wording engine, two consumers, two contexts (writing self-check vs delivery red line), two severities (warn vs critical).Do not rebuild the wording tiers.

Division of labor with consistency:paper-writing = three alignment self-checks within a single draft(abstract/intro/conclusion,warn);C2 consistency = standing cross-material/cross-stage review of terminology, metrics, and contribution consistency(paper↔slides↔lit).Do not rebuild the consistency engine.

Special position (rework initiator): during writing, discover that a claim has no experimental support → findings carry a "claim/evidence/support" signal → orchestrator reroute --stage 8 recommends 8→7 going back to result-analysis to add evidence (default); if the conclusionwas never produced by experiments at all → change 8→6 to go back to experiment-coding to add experiments. This is a decision point; stop and ask the user.

Is it a standing cross-cutting concern? No. This is anon-demand / mainline node invoked; file-reading / memory-pm / project-structure / consistency / research-ethics are standing cross-cutting concerns throughout, and this skill does not duplicate them.

Real author workflow: first read paper-writing-resource-map.md. It strings venue/claim plan, evidence collection, section contract, reverse outline, self-review, machine-readable gates, rework, and downstream handoff into a six-step closed loop; it is not a list of resource URLs.

When to start (trigger signals)

  • Experiments + result analysisare done and you want to write the paper(result-analysis hands over evidence_strength.json + claim_evidence_table.md + per-claim light.result_card.v1)——main usage。
  • The user wants towrite/revise the abstract / introduction / contribution sentences / method / conclusion, or asks "how to write this passage more persuasively / how would reviewers see it" — any one of these starts it.
  • Worried that "the abstract says a 3.1-point improvement but the conclusion only says 'improved performance' (contribution shrinkage/drift) / wrote 'proves' or 'SOTA' but the experiments are not that strong (overclaiming) / stated a claim but there is no data to support it at all (claim without evidence)" — this hits exactly this skill's critical/warn gates.
  • Want to dofirst-draft polishing(remove AI tone / too much passive voice / stacked hedges / punctuation / grammar), or preserve the author's voice and not have it rewritten into standard academic tone.
  • Rework determination (actively initiated by this skill): during writing, discover a claim without evidence(→8→7 back to result-analysis to add evidence / 8→6 back to experiment-coding to add experiments) —this is a decision point; stop and ask the user(where to go back / proceed with known issues / convert to known limitations).

How you work: ACT / ASK / NEVER

Every actionis first classified: should itbe done yourself (ACT), should youstop and ask the user (ASK), ornever (NEVER)?

ACT — run deterministic writing gates + machine checks, do it yourself (don't bother the user)

  • claim must have evidence / overclaiming / result-card guardrail critical gate(the soul of this skill):python scripts/claim_evidence_gate.py --draft draft.md --evidence evidence_strength.json --claim-map claim_plan.json --report claim_findings.json— consumes result-analysis's evidence file + light.paper_claims.v1 + _shared/evidence_contract → produces light.findings.v1:strong assertion not registered, bound ID does not exist, or only bound to none → claim_evidence critical; the claim map must contain the current draft's draft_sha256, after revision the old binding must not continue to pass;checked_at/captured_at must not come from the future,source_artifacts/source_locators must not retain placeholders, fake SHAs, or private absolute paths; empirical claims must also carry a pinned-version result-card 's locator/sha256/decision/language_strength/guardrail_summary;decision != CLAIM_READY、guardrail FAIL/UNKNOWN, or WARN but the claim has no stated limitation → result_card_guardrail critical; wording stronger than the claim's own evidence tier → overclaim warn; three-way contribution drift → contribution_consistency warn. critical → run_checkpoint --stage 8 exit 1。
  • Integrity overall linter:python scripts/draft_lint.py draft.md --final --evidence evidence_strength.json— checks residual gap markers ([MATERIAL GAP]/[RESULT GAP]/TODO, final-draft gate must zero them out) + required statement sections (Data Availability/Ethics/CRediT/Conflicts/Funding/ AI Use) + SOTA wording adjacency without significance + citation ledger (DOI/arXiv extracted pending citation check) + --evidence --claim-map per-claim wording gate. --claims extracts candidate fact sentences to seed templates/claim_passport.md。
  • Three-way contribution consistency:python scripts/contribution_consistency.py --in draft.md --json— extracts contribution sentences from abstract/intro/conclusion, compares NUMBER-DRIFT / STRENGTH-DRIFT / COVERAGE-DRIFT.Single-manuscript self-check(cross-material goes to C2).
  • Offline machine check(no API, pure stdlib):python scripts/mechanical_check.py --file draft.md(supports --latex stripping LaTeX) — overclaiming words / AI-speak boilerplate / hedge stacking / excessive passive / punctuation;--evidence-map evidence_strength.json lets strong words with strong evidence be exempted from downgrade, and strong evidence over-hedged triggers an under-claim counter-prompt (bidirectional wording↔evidence calibration).
  • Grammar/style polishing:python scripts/polish.py --file draft.md(defaults to offline local rules);--online only opt-in LanguageTool (anonymous rate-limited, single-document throttled, respects ToS).Author style protection:style_fingerprint.py --build past*.txt --out my_style.json builds a fingerprint → --compare draft.txt --ref my_style.json flags deviations, polishing leans toward the author's style, not flattened into a template.
  • Write by structure: use templates/01_imrad.md(IMRaD + CARS introduction: pain point→gap→approach→contribution→result preview) to draft; contribution sentencesstart with a verb, measurable。
  • Check the argument spine before polishing:argument_contract.py checks the central question/claim, contribution delta and boundaries, whether abstract/introduction promises close in Results+Discussion/Conclusion, reader path, each paragraph's own evidence IDs, claim_type(RESULT/NULL_RESULT/MECHANISM/CAUSAL/SPECULATION…)、role(RESULT/INTERPRETATION/LIMITATION…), partial/contested limitation, causal design, mechanism tests, null result precision/power statement, post-hoc disclosure, and figure-first map; it does not substitute "fluency" for argument closure.

ASK — stop and ask the user, giving "evidence + recommendation + alternatives" (decision point 🧑)

Decision point When How you ask
Rework initiated 8→7 (claim has no evidence)(most important) claim_evidence judges the draft's strong assertion has no evidence-tier support "The abstract says 'our method is SOTA, significantly better than all baselines', but in evidence_strength.json there isno evidence tier supporting this(no corresponding claim / all grade=none).Recommendationgo back to result-analysis (8→7) to add/strengthen evidence for that claim (compute q/effect size/CI). Rework carries 'which claim lacks which kind of evidence' — or honestly weaken it to 'no significant superiority observed'? (You decide the direction; never leave an unsupported strong assertion)"
Rework initiated 8→6 (implementation/reproduction gap) claim has no evidence and the root cause is "the experiment simply never produced that result" "The experiment corresponding to this claimnever produced a result at all(it's not that the analysis wasn't done, it's that the result is missing).SuggestionGo back to experiment-coding (8→6) to fill in the experiment, rather than back to result-analysis. Include 'which experiment/result is missing'. Or first mark [RESULT GAP] as a placeholder and leave this one out of the contribution for now?
Overclaim you want to keep overclaim judged as wording stronger than the evidence tier (warn) "claim Y evidence tier=weak(significant but small effect d=0.2), but it says 'demonstrate / significantly outperforms'.SuggestionDowngrade to 'indicate / slightly better in this experiment' and add a hedge. If you don't change it, it will be blocked before delivery by research-ethics' hard wording gate (critical). Want me to downgrade the wording?
Contribution inconsistent in three places contribution_consistency judged NUMBER/COVERAGE drift "The abstract says 'improves by 3.1 points' but the conclusion only says 'improved performance' (number drift), and the abstract's 'calibration module' contribution cannot be found in the conclusion (coverage drift). Reviewers will question contribution shrinkage/exaggeration.SuggestionAlign all three places: either all give 3.1 points, or none do; the conclusion should echo each contribution. Want me to align them?"
Reviewer's-eye view finds hard flaws Self-review finds weak logic / unremarkable novelty / insufficient argumentation / easy to question "Went through it as a reviewer: the delta between contribution C2 and Smith2023 is unclear (unremarkable novelty), and paragraph 3 of Results writes correlation as causation (easy to question). Thesecan't be detected by machine, you have to judge。SuggestionRewrite contribution C2 to make the delta clear, and change that Results sentence to 'A and B are negatively correlated'. Go through it together?"

NEVER — absolutely never [NON-NEGOTIABLE]

This section is a red line, non-negotiable, and cannot be bypassed by "write it strong first so it's easier to publish", "reviewers might not notice", or "good enough is fine". Violating any one item = serious dereliction of duty.

  1. Never leave a claim without evidence: every strong assertion written into the paper (SOTA/outperform/prove/significantly outperforms/improves by X%) must have a corresponding evidence tier (result-analysis's evidence_strength.json). A strong assertion without evidence = claim_evidence critical integrity gate → go back and fill in evidence (8→7) or honestly weaken it,never fill in numbers/conclusions based on gut feeling(if there's no source, mark [RESULT GAP])。
  2. Never let wording be stronger than the evidence: wording strength must match the evidence tier —strong→demonstrate/establish/prove,moderate→show/indicate/improve, weak→suggest/may/possibly (must hedge),none→can only report "no significant difference observed / no significant difference". Writing "trends toward significant/beneficial/better" when it is not significant = Boutron spin, absolutely not.evidence_strength.json is the single source of truth for "wording not stronger than evidence".
  3. Never let result-card / guardrail disappear during the writing stage: empirical claims must be bound to light.result_card.v1 's locator+SHA-256,decision=CLAIM_READY、 language.strength and guardrail_analysis Abstract. guardrail FAIL/UNKNOWN must not be written as claim ready; guardrail WARN can only advance restrictively, and claim_impact must be written into the claim limitations and the limitations in the main text.
  4. Never let the three places contradict each other: the contribution points in the abstract/introduction/conclusioncount, wording, order, numbersmust be consistent—don't say three points in one place and two in another, don't give "3.1 points" in the abstract while the conclusion only says "improved". A strong start and weak finish (the abstract's contribution conclusion not echoed) = coverage drift.
  5. Never write AI-speak boilerplate + over-hedging/under-hedging: delete "in conclusion / it is worth noting / in summary / it is worth noting / in-depth exploration" and other template-speak (reviewers spot it at a glance); don't hedge everything with "may possibly suggest" (writing timidly about certain results = under-claim), and don't pile strong words on weak evidence.
  6. Never let AI fabricate citations/data/mechanisms: citation authenticity is verified at the citation stage (this skill only registers "to be verified" + extracts a DOI/arXiv ledger);AI cannot list authors, the authors bear full responsibility for all content, and if AI writing was used it must be disclosed per journal policy (references/mandatory_inclusions.md)。
  7. Never inflate a machine check into "proved there is no exaggeration / the argument is sufficient":claim_evidence_gate/mechanical_check checks theformof "strong assertions with no evidence tier / wording exceeding the tier / AI-speak"; the canonical gate uses the current draft_sha256 + exact claim text + evidence ID, but it is still affected by overly broad spans, semantic boundaries, and synonymous rewrites;whether the logic is weak, whether the novelty stands out enough, whether the argument is sufficient, and whether it is persuasive still require a human/reviewer for the final judgment. Honestly mark the boundaries.
  8. Never silently rework: if writing finds a claim with no evidence (8→7) / an implementation gap (8→6)is adecision point—with evidence, stop and ask the user(go back where / mark GAP and don't write it for now / convert to a known limitation),neverdecide on your own to rework, andneverforcefully keep an unsupported strong assertion in the main text and move on.

Self-check trigger words: when you want to say "write this conclusion stronger first so it's easier to publish / it's not significant but the trend is right so write it as an improvement / exaggerate the wording a bit and reviewers won't notice / this number is probably about this much so just fill it in / it's fine to write the abstract fully and the conclusion briefly / polish it with AI-speak to make it smoother"—stop, you've probably hit NEVER items 1/2/3/4/5, or missed the ASK decision on rework/overclaiming.

Instruction flow: when to call which script (the engine is already in place, personally selftest to exit 0, call directly and do not rewrite)

8 scripts in scripts/;claim_binding/claim_evidence_gate/draft_lint/contribution_consistency/mechanical_check connect to _shared (spec bootstrap),style_fingerprint/polish pure stdlib standalone. Before running on Windows set PYTHONUTF8=1。

① claim must have evidence/overclaiming/result-card guardrail critical gate → critical fail exit 1 (the soul of this skill)

# 消费 result-analysis 的 evidence_strength.json + result-card guardrail + evidence_contract → light.findings.v1:
python scripts/claim_binding.py --draft draft.md --evidence evidence_strength.json --claim-map claim_plan.json --as-of 2026-07-05
python scripts/claim_evidence_gate.py --draft draft.md --evidence evidence_strength.json --claim-map claim_plan.json --report claim_findings.json
# 无证据文件时:每条强断言一律视作 claim 无证据(诚信门 critical),逼你先拿证据再写:
python scripts/claim_evidence_gate.py --draft draft.md --claim-map claim_plan.json --report claim_findings.json
# 交总控聚合(stage 8 确认点,critical fail → exit 1 确定性阻断):
python ../light-orchestrator/scripts/run_checkpoint.py --file .light/passport.yaml --stage 8 \
    --findings claim_findings.json --write --ts 2026-06-20T10:00

② machine check during writing (self-check, does not block the DAG, run it as you write)

python scripts/argument_contract.py --input templates/argument-outline.example.json
python scripts/draft_lint.py draft.md --final --evidence evidence_strength.json --claim-map claim_plan.json
python scripts/draft_lint.py draft.md --claims # 抽候选事实句播种 claim_passport
python scripts/contribution_consistency.py --in draft.md --json # 贡献三处一致(warn)
python scripts/mechanical_check.py --file draft.md --evidence-map evidence_strength.json # 离线机检+措辞双向校准
python scripts/polish.py --file draft.md # 默认离线语法/风格;--online 才打 LanguageTool
python scripts/style_fingerprint.py --compare draft.txt --ref my_style.json # 文风偏离(保留作者声音)

The public argument example intentionally contains MISSING claim, expected exit 1; only after replacing with real evidence IDs, section/ paragraph reader path, claim type, paragraph role, causal/mechanism/null/post-hoc boundaries, and contribution closure can it possibly PASS.

③ Rework initiator: writing finds a claim with no evidence → send back upstream to fix (8→7 / 8→6)

# claim_evidence_gate 判"claim 无证据" → findings 带信号词 → 总控 reroute 按 ROUTES[8] 建议回边:
python ../light-orchestrator/scripts/reroute.py --findings claim_findings.json --stage 8 --passport .light/passport.yaml
# 默认 8→7 回 result-analysis 补证据;若属实现/复现缺口(实验没产出)→ 用户改判 8→6 回 experiment-coding。
# 用户拍板回炉后落一等回边(记在目标阶段,不破拓扑):
python ../light-orchestrator/scripts/passport.py add-back-edge --to 7 --from 8 \
    --root-cause "claim 'SOTA' 无实验支撑" --evidence-ptr "<reroute 给的指针>" # 或 --to 6(实现缺口)
python ../light-orchestrator/scripts/passport.py validate --file .light/passport.yaml # 回边不破拓扑 → 仍 PASS

Each script --selftest/--help is the interface; hands-on tool verification (Writefull/Paperpal boundaries / CARS / Hyland hedging / Boutron spin / SciFact / NeurIPS·ACL review criteria / LanguageTool rate limiting) see docs/competitors/paper-writing.md。

Academician-level deep dive: the five are the passing line (blueprint §4.3-8, not bonus points)

① Contributions consistent in three places (abstract/introduction/conclusion wording aligned)

The three contribution sentences are scattered across the beginning and end of a long manuscript, the place most prone to drift. Count/wording/order/numbers consistent: don't have the abstract give "improves by 3.1 points" while the conclusion only says "improved performance" (number drift), and don't have the abstract list three contributions while the conclusion echoes only two (coverage drift/anticlimactic ending). Machine check contribution_consistency.py,final judgment by human reading the three places for alignment. Anchor: NeurIPS Checklist Q1 "Do the main claims made in the abstract and introduction accurately reflect the paper's contributions and scope?".

② Wording strength matches evidence strength (never overclaim)

Strong evidence strong wording (demonstrate/prove), weak evidence hedge (suggest/may/possibly),for non-significant report only "no significant difference seen"、never spin(calling non-significant results beneficial/trending toward significance = the common flaw Boutron empirically found in 60% of RCT abstracts).Directly consume result-analysis's evidence_strength.json(q/effect size/CI → evidence tier) + _shared/evidence_contract(lint_wording built from the Hyland hedge/booster ladder, bilingual Chinese-English + negation guard + GRADE word list). overclaim is a warn at stage 8 (self-check);critical wording red lines are the research-ethics delivery gate。

③ Four-part introduction (CARS move structure)

Pain point (field importance, CARS M1 territory) → existing shortcomings (gap, CARS M2: counter-claim/indicate a gap/raise a question) → insight (how you fill this gap, CARS M3 occupy) → contribution (contribution sentencestarts with a verb, measurable: "We propose X that improves … by 3.1 points" rather than "this paper does some work").templates/01_imrad.md set the structure, the script only checks "are the four parts present / is there a contribution sentence",persuasiveness/insight depth judged by human。

④ Reviewer-perspective loop (be your own reviewer and pick it apart before revising)

Self-review along the four NeurIPS dimensions (Quality=are claims backed by evidence / Clarity / Significance / Originality) + ACL "every claim must have evidence or be marked as speculation": where the logic is weak / the novelty is not prominent (the delta can't be stated clearly) / the argument is insufficient / it is easily challenged (correlation written as causation) / a citation is needed——pick these out then revise (references/self_review_checklist.md 's 8 dimensions of quality + 7 types of AI failure modes;references/argument_review.md 's Claim-Evidence-Boundary four rings). Also use ACL's 17 bias heuristics in reverse to prevent yourself from being an unfair reviewer. This layercannot be machine-detected, it is the true craft of writing。

⑤ What an academician would press on (rehearsal)

Does every claim have evidence(does the body hold up what the abstract says)? Is there any overclaiming(does the wording match the evidence, is a non-significant result presented as a highlight)? Are the contributions consistent in three places? Where would a reviewer pick at it(where is the weakest argument, the point most likely to cause desk rejection)?——If you can't answer, the writing hasn't reached the passing line.

Closing self-check (go through it before issuing a verdict / before writing back to the master control)

  • Does every strong assertion (SOTA/outperform/proven/improves X%) havea corresponding evidence tier(evidence_strength.json), and is there no claim without evidence? (claim_evidence_gate ran)
  • light.paper_claims.v1 's draft_sha256 the current draft's UTF-8 SHA-256? After revising the draft, has the old claim map been blocked?
  • checked_at/captured_at/updated_at are all real times that have occurred?source_artifacts/source_locators are all relative paths within the public handoff package, and are the SHA-256 values not placeholders/fake values?
  • Is every empirical claim bound to a result-card locator/SHA-256/decision=CLAIM_READY/language_strength/guardrail_summary ? guardrail WARN 's claim_impact does it enter claim limitations and the main text limitations?
  • Is every claim's claim_type and every paragraph's role legal and matching the section's responsibility? Do Results not sneak in causal/mechanistic speculation, and does Discussion not dress speculation up as results?
  • Do causal claims have an identification strategy + causal design locator, do mechanism claims have mechanism tests, do null/negative results have CI/power/excludable effect size explanations, and are post-hoc claims disclosed?
  • Wording strengthmatches the evidence tier? For non-significant ones, only report "no significant difference observed", with no spin (trending toward significant/beneficial)?
  • contributionconsistent in three places (abstract/introduction/conclusion)? (count/wording/numbers/coverage, no drift)?
  • introductionfour-paragraph structureclear? (pain point→gap→insight→contribution, contribution sentences start with a verb and are measurable)?
  • as if a reviewer went through it once? (weak logic/novelty/argumentation/easy to question/missing citations)? Has the weakest argument been strengthened?
  • residual [MATERIAL GAP]/[RESULT GAP]/TODO cleared to zero, and are required statements (Ethics/CRediT/AI Use…) complete? (draft_lint --final)
  • removed AI tone / excessive passive voice / stacked hedges? Preserved the author's style (not changed into standard academic tone)?
  • For claims found to have no evidence, stop and ask the userreturn to result-analysis (8→7)/experiment-coding (8→6), and did not silently leave strong assertions without evidence?
  • Did not **blow machine checks up into "proven no exaggeration/argumentation is sufficient"**? (Final judgment of logic/novelty/persuasiveness requires a human/reviewer)

Name-reality alignment (honest, not hyped as a selling point)

Real increment (v2 delivered, already selftest + E2E tested):⓪ Round 3 current-draft + result-card/guardrail + paragraph contract hardening: claim_binding.py requires light.paper_claims.v1 to be bound to the current draft's draft_sha256, and checks whether the verification time, source path/hash, and locator are truly handoff-ready; after revising the draft, the old claim map, future times, placeholders, fake SHAs, or private absolute paths will all make claim_evidence critical; empirical claims must also carry the fixed-version result-card's locator/SHA-256,decision=CLAIM_READY、language_strength and guardrail_summary,guardrail FAIL/UNKNOWN or WARN not writing limitations will enter result_card_guardrail critical, preventing result-analysis's guardrail_analysis.claim_impact from disappearing when writing the paper;argument_contract.py adds claim_type/paragraph role, and machine-checks causal/mechanism/null/post-hoc design, tests, precision/power, and disclosure gaps, preventing Results from passing off speculation/interpretation as definite results. ① claim must have evidence/overclaiming/result-card guardrail critical gate producer(claim_evidence_gate.py, v2 net-new wiring, following result-analysis stat_rigor_gate/experiment-coding repro_gate isomorphism)——Consume result-analysis's evidence_strength.json + _shared/evidence_contract → produce light.findings.v1(producer=paper-writing):Draft makes strong assertions with no support from any evidence tier → claim_evidence critical(aligned with STAGE_GATES[8]=[claim_evidence,overclaim]), wording exceeds tier → overclaim warn, contribution drift → contribution_consistency warn, aggregated by run_checkpoint --stage 8 with exit 1. ② This skill is the initiator of the 8→7 / 8→6 back-edges—— Writing finds a claim lacks evidence → findings carry the "claim/evidence/support" signal → reroute suggestion 8→7 back to result-analysis to add evidence (default) / 8→6 back to experiment-coding to add experiments (implementation gap). ③ Honest division of labor with C1/C2, shared engine not reinvented: claim_evidence/overclaim uses the same _shared/evidence_contract.lint_wording(research ethics' delivery red line also uses it)——one set of lint_wording, two consumers (paper-writing writing self-check warn vs research-ethics delivery critical); consistency of contributions in three places is a single-manuscript self-check (warn), cross-material consistency belongs to C2. ④ Port v1's five scripts, fix bootstrap/naming: draft_lint/contribution_consistency/mechanical_check fix hardcoded ../../_shared→ canonical bootstrap,m06/m08→result-analysis/ paper-writing;polish LanguageTool endpoint statusfirst-hand verification(rate limiting + discouraging automation) → change to default offline,--online opt-in。

what a bare model already knows how to do (no bragging): "don't overclaim in papers," "align contributions in three places," "introduction covers pain point→gap→contribution," "review it once as a reviewer," "remove AI tone"——a bare Opus will say all of it,near-zero increment. This skill's value = ① turn "claim has no evidence" into a deterministic critical machine-readable gate + deterministic blocking(a bare model says "you need evidence" but still writes strong assertions without evidence; the orchestrator can't read its "saying," it reads light.findings.v1 's verdict); ② wording↔evidence machine check consumes the same evidence_strength.json(not reminding "don't exaggerate," but actually comparing "this claim's evidence tier=weak yet it uses demonstrate"); ③ claim has no evidence → machine-readable findings + root-cause reforge initiation(paper-writing is the 8→7/8→6 reforge hub; a bare model has no such nonlinear orchestration loop); ④ offline deterministic, zero local library/zero paid key (machine check offline by default, LanguageTool opt-in only).

Honest lagging items (known not achieved):

  1. machine-checking wording ≠ proving no exaggeration: lint catches theshapeof "strong assertion without evidence tier / wording exceeding tier." Now light.paper_claims.v1 does precise text span + evidence claim ID + current draft_sha256 binding; unregistered strong assertions or old-manuscript claim map fail closed,no longer falling back to the highest tier in the full text; but overly broad spans, synonymous rewrites and claim boundaries still need human review, andthe final judgment of whether the logic is weak, whether the innovation is sufficient, whether the argument is adequate, and whether the persuasiveness is strong still needs humans/reviewers。
  2. claim_evidence checks "whether evidence exists/strength" not "whether evidence is true": it only checks "whether the author gave an evidence tier, whether the wording matches that tier,"not whether the conclusion is correct(that must be reproduced/ same line). Unlike SciFact (checking whether a claim is true or false).
  3. overclaim is a warn at stage 8(spec §4.2): soften the prompt when writing;the critical wording red line is the research-ethics delivery gate(conclusion_overclaim). Two severity sets, two contexts, not two sets of lint。
  4. consistency across the three contribution locations is a warn self-check, not cross-material review: within a single manuscript, align abstract/intro/conclusion; heuristic extraction of contribution sentences will miss/false-positive, and offline semantic_sim is weak on pure synonymous rewrites;cross-stage/cross-material consistency belongs to C2 consistency。
  5. the four-paragraph introduction/reviewer perspective is the human-judgment home turf: the CARS structure script checks "are the four paragraphs there / is there a contribution sentence",persuasiveness / whether the novelty stands out / whether the argument is sufficientcannot be machine-checked, the reviewer-perspective loop is the real craft of writing.
  6. polishing boundary:mechanical_check/polish is surface-level (grammar/style/AI tone),does not change scientific content;polish online endpoints are rate-limited + official discouragement of automation → offline by default,--online only single-document rate-controlled opt-in, does not hit endpoints in selftest;does not restate specific HTTP codes not actually tested(iron rule 2). Style fingerprint is a statistical profile, "what to change it to for the better" is still judged by the author/reviewer.
  7. citation authenticity is not in this skill: this skill only registers "pending citation check" + extracts a DOI/arXiv ledger;hard verification to prevent hallucinated citations belongs to the citation stage (stage 10)。

Standard output artifacts: paper draft/final draft (IMRaD/conference template) · claim_plan.json(light.paper_claims.v1, including the current draft_sha256, claim↔evidence↔source↔result-card guardrail↔section coverage) · argument-outline.json(claim type/paragraph role/causal·mechanism·null·post-hoc boundary) · claim_findings.json (claim must have evidence/overclaim/result-card guardrail gate) · polishing report (machine-check findings + style deviation). Claim without evidence → back to result-analysis (8→7) / experiment-coding (8→6); figure planning goes to figure (stage 9) · citation verification goes to citation (stage 10) · typesetting and compilation go to typesetting (stage 11) · before delivery, research-ethics cross-cutting review of wording red lines.
