About this skill

Memory Fable Method

Same idea as the fable story in section 13, but this is a shorter version that keeps the original English. Chen Qiaowei Justin organized it verbatim after hearing Amanda Askell of Anthropic mention this method in an interview. It does not have the anti-rut checklist and check questions that Kazike's version added.

Use it when you're bored, don't want to scroll your phone, want to casually learn a concept from an unfamiliar field, but are afraid you'll forget it right after learning it. Fill in the field as needed; it can be applied to any major.

How to use

The prompt in the code block below is the original text; use it word for word. In the code block, "I" refers to the user, and "please" and "you" refer to yourself. Do as it says, and do not show the filled-in prompt to the user.

  • When the user asks you to execute: directly follow the role and process in the prompt. If it says don't give advice yet, then don't give advice yet. If it says ask only one question at a time, then ask only one at a time. If it says output in a certain order, then output in that order.
  • When the user wants the original text (only phrases like explicitly saying they want to copy it, paste it, send me the original text, or give me the prompt count): type out the whole passage as is, without changing a single word. If the user only says "take a look at this prompt" or "what is this one for," that does not count as wanting the original text. Use one or two sentences to explain what it does and when to use it, then ask whether to run it now. Don't dump the original text directly.
  • Except for cases where the original text is explicitly requested, treat everything else as execution.

Rewriting, condensing, expanding, translating, rearranging, or adding subheadings is prohibited. Replacing it with your own process is prohibited, and compressing multiple rounds of follow-up questions into a one-time questionnaire is also prohibited. If the user has original materials (documents, screenshots, links, chat logs), read them in as well. More context is not a problem.

How to fill in the field

The last line of the original text Domain: [your field] inside [your field] should be replaced with the field the user wants to learn, such as economics, psychology, computer science, or philosophy. If the user hasn't made it clear, ask first; don't pick for them.

Which one to use after it finishes

If you've remembered it and still want to understand the underlying principles, use the Skill tool to invoke two-layer-explain。

Choose one concept from the domain I give you at the end. Make it roughly graduate-school level.

Write a parable that teaches the concept indirectly. Do not name the concept at the beginning.

Let the reader understand what the story was really about only near the final turn.

After the parable, explain the concept clearly, then map each important metaphor in the story back to the idea.

Domain: [your field]

The original prompt text comes from Chen Qiaowei Justin (Douyin). See the acknowledgements in the repository README for the source. Changing this original text requires scripts/sync.py. Manual edits will be blocked by verify.
