TinyFish CLI

Invoke TinyFish browser automation capabilities via the command line: search, scrape body text, execute automation tasks, batch operations.

When to Use

• Need web search and structured results (title, URL, summary)
• Need to scrape web page body text (removing ads and navigation noise)
• Need to perform automated operations on web pages (extract data, click, fill forms, etc.)
• Need to batch process multiple web page tasks
• Need to create a remote browser session for programmatic control

When Not to Use

• Pure local file operations or code search
• When existing MCP tools (Context7, Exa, web-reader) can meet the need, prefer MCP
• Simple HTTP requests that do not need browser capabilities

Prerequisites

The CLI is installed and configured. Run tinyfish auth status to confirm authentication status. When unauthenticated, the exit code is 1.

General Rules

• All commands output JSON to stdout by default, errors go to stderr (JSON format), failure exit code 1
• All commands support --pretty to get human-readable output
• When invoking agent run in the Bash tool,always use --sync to get complete results
• When troubleshooting, add --debug or set TINYFISH_DEBUG=1 to view HTTP request logs

Common Errors

• agent run Missing --url parameter (required)
• When parsing JSON in streaming mode, did not process line by line (each line is an independent JSON object)
• batch run 's CSV is missing the url or goal column
• Calling commands directly when unauthenticated (first tinyfish auth status check)
