Overview
Use the markmap-mcp-server mcp tool to convert #$ARGUMENTS or a natural language description into a mind map/flowchart or other visualization diagram, and automatically open the browser preview after generation.
This skill splits the bootstrap state into two layers:
- Shared service marker:
service.initialized - Host registration marker:
host.claude.initialized、host.codex.initialized、host.opencode.initialized
Marker directory location:
- Windows:
%APPDATA%\karthrand-ai\skills\mindmap\ - Unix-like:
${XDG_STATE_HOME:-$HOME/.local/state}/karthrand-ai/skills/mindmap/
Reference this only in the following two cases: references/bootstrap.md:
- The shared service marker or the current host marker cannot be detected
- When calling
markmap-mcp-server, an environment-related error occurs (for example, server not registered, command does not exist, transport startup failure)
Workflow
- First check whether the shared service marker and the current host marker exist.
- If the shared service marker does not exist, refer to
references/bootstrap.mdand explicitly pass in the current host to execute bootstrap; write only after the shared service has actually been verified as passingservice.initialized。 - If the current host marker does not exist, refer to
references/bootstrap.mdand explicitly pass in the current host to execute bootstrap; write the corresponding one only after that host registration has actually been verified as passinghost.<宿主>.initialized。 - Collect the user's #$ARGUMENTS; if the description is too loose, first briefly confirm the scope and hierarchy.
- Organize the content into a Markdown structure suitable for markmap (headings + lists), keeping the hierarchy clear.
- Call the markmap-mcp-server mcp tool to generate a mind map, and automatically open the browser after generation.
- If an environment-related error occurs during the tool call, refer again to
references/bootstrap.mduse the forced repair method to execute bootstrap, and then retry only once. - Inform the user of the output file location, and add the file name if necessary.
Key points for tool calls
- Use
markmap-mcp-servermcp tool (corresponding to the markmap/markdown_to_mindmap capability). - When both the shared service marker and the current host marker exist, continue directly with the main flow; do not perform additional bootstrap checks.
- For bootstrap installation strategy, platform differences, fallback methods, and repair commands, refer uniformly to
references/bootstrap.md。 - bootstrap must explicitly specify the current host:
claude、codexoropencode; do not use the method of automatically inferring the target host. - Pass in the organized Markdown content; by default, the file can be generated and the browser preview opened.
- If the user needs a specific title or hierarchy, express it explicitly with Markdown headings and lists.
- Only environment-related errors trigger bootstrap; content errors, structure errors, and generation errors do not trigger reinstallation.
