Detailed Guidelines
Load guidelines.md for the core social media strategy. Load other references only when directly relevant to the task:
- Post Templates — when writing social posts or threads
- Short Form Video — when scripting or planning TikToks, Reels, or Shorts
- Listening and Listening Sources Template — when monitoring brand mentions or searching for relevant conversations
- Platforms and Platform Limits — when checking formatting limits, character constraints, or channel-specific rules
- Reverse Engineering — when analyzing high-performing external posts for inspiration
Task-Specific Questions
- What platform(s) are you focusing on?
- What's your current posting frequency?
- Do you have existing content to repurpose?
- What content has performed well in the past?
- How much time can you dedicate weekly?
- Are you building personal brand, company brand, or both?
Gotchas
- Posting external links in main posts: Most social algorithms (like LinkedIn and Twitter) penalize posts containing external links because they want users to stay on their platform. Put links in the comments or first reply, or write text-only value posts.
- Boring or slow hooks: The first 1-3 lines of text (or first 2 seconds of video) are the only thing that stops the scroll. Starting with "Hello everyone, today I want to talk about..." is a guaranteed way to get scrolled past. Lead with a hook (tension, surprise, or clear benefit).
- Posting and ghosting: Algorithms reward quick engagement. If you post and immediately log off without replying to early comments or engaging with other creators, your reach will suffer. Spend 15 minutes engaging right after you post.
- Copy-pasting identical text across all channels: A formatted Twitter thread looks lazy on LinkedIn, and Instagram posts without images fail. Customize the formatting and tone to make the content native to each platform.
- Optimizing for low-intent metrics: Getting thousands of views on generic memes or engagement bait does not translate to business revenue. Target your posts to the specific pain points and desires of your ideal customer hero.
