Core Concepts
- Product: The top-level entity in ZenTao; a product contains multiple requirements (Story) and bugs (Bug).
- Product ID: The unique identifier of the product; when creating a requirement, the ID of the product it belongs to must be specified.
- Relationship between Product and Project: A product defines "what to do", and a project defines "how to do it". One product can be associated with multiple projects.

Gotchas
-
No Filtering Options:
product listThe command requires no additional parameters and directly lists all products you have permission to access. -
Product vs Project: Distinguish between products and projects:
- Product: Product perspective, focusing on "what features to build"
- Project: Project perspective, focusing on "how to implement these features"
-
Product ID Required: When creating a requirement (Story), you must specify the
--productparameter. -
Product ACL: Products have permission control; only users who have been assigned product permissions can view or operate resources under that product.
-
Closed Product: Closed products (status=closed) usually no longer accept new requirements or bugs.
