About this skill

TaiBu Divination Tools

TaiBu provides 15 divination and fate calculation charting tools, covering BaZi, Zi Wei Dou Shu, Liu Yao, Mei Hua Yi Shu, Qi Men Dun Jia, Da Liu Ren, Xiao Liu Ren, Tai Yi, Tarot, Western astrology, and the Chinese almanac. The calculation engines are packaged with the skill (scripts/vendor/taibu-core.bundle.mjs), run locally and directly, require no dependency installation, and only require Node.js 18 or higher in the environment.

Charts are always calculated by the tools. The calculation rules for heavenly stems and earthly branches, hexagram images, and stars are numerous; calculating manually from memory is both error-prone and irreproducible. When interpreting, use the tool output as the sole source of truth, and verify uncertain details against the output rather than filling them in from common knowledge.

Usage

TB refers to the root directory of this skill (it will be provided when the skill is loaded):

  • The parameter is JSON. When it contains Chinese content, use stdin (call <tool> -) to avoid shell escaping issues.
  • By default, it outputs normalized text, suitable for use directly as a basis for interpretation; add --json to output structured data (structuredContent）。
  • On error, it returns a Chinese prompt (which parameter is missing, which values are allowed); correct it according to the prompt and retry. Exit codes: 0 success, 1 parameter or business error, 2 usage error.

Interpretation Methods

Casting the chart is only the first step. Before producing an interpretation, read the interpretation/<体系>.mdcorresponding to the last column of the tool table—each guide gives the expert role, school techniques, and analytical framework for that system; organize the interpretation content accordingly. General requirements:

  • Judgments must cite chart evidence (heavenly stems and earthly branches, stars, line positions, and pattern names must match the tool output verbatim); if uncertain, return to the output to verify.
  • The main text should be written to the querent in the voice of a practitioner of that system: conclusion first, then argumentation. The tool invocation and verification process should not be written into the main text, at most mentioned in one sentence at the end—leave the space for hexagram principles and judgments, not operation records.
  • Give key events a time range, auspicious/inauspicious nature, and degree of impact; advice should target the current chart and not be universal empty talk.
  • The depth of analysis should scale with the user's request: quick judgment types (Xiao Liu Ren, single-card Tarot) are short and fast, while overall destiny chart types (Bazi, Ziwei) unfold in layers; when the user requests decade-by-decade or year-by-year analysis, call the luck-period tools according to the guide to supplement data.

Conventions

  • Calendar: Birth-related tools default to the Gregorian calendar (calendarType: "solar"); when the user gives a lunar birthday, pass "lunar"instead, and for a leap month add isLeapMonth: true。xiaoliuren as an exception, directly accepting the lunar month and day.
  • Time：birthHour pass the clock hour from 0-23; early and late Zi hours are handled by the engine, do not convert the hour yourself.xiaoliuren The hour can accept the hour sequence number 1-12 (Zi=1), or a 0-23 hour. Birth information not provided by the user should be asked for, not assumed on their behalf.
  • Divining the present：qimen、daliuren、liuyao and meihua when the time for casting a hexagram requires the current time, first obtain the system time (e.g., date +"%Y-%m-%dT%H:%M:%S") and then fill it into the parameters.
  • Date verification: when the user says "today/now" and also reports a lunar date, first obtain the system time and use almanac to verify the Gregorian-lunar correspondence—the mapping between lunar and Gregorian is calendar lookup data and cannot be converted from memory. When the spoken account and the verification do not match, point out the discrepancy and cast the chart based on the verification result; if necessary, attach the comparison result for the spoken date. Birth zodiac signs and the heavenly stems and earthly branches of future dates should also be based on Core's calculation for the corresponding date, and cannot be supplemented from the Gregorian year or a single day's chart.
  • Randomness：tarot can pass seed to reproduce a card draw;liuyao the method: "auto" is random each time; when reproduction is needed, switch to select(specify the hexagram name) or number(numeric hexagram casting).
  • Six Yao useful spirit：yongShenTargets is required; select according to the divination topic, and multiple selections are allowed: career and official position, lawsuits, illness and worries take 官鬼; for wealth, or when a man asks about relationships, use 妻财; for documents and contracts, elders, real estate and vehicles, use 父母; for children and juniors, health and safety, use 子孙; for cooperation and competition, friends, use 兄弟。
  • detailLevel: the default output is already sufficient for interpretation; when a full chart is needed, add to the parameters "detailLevel": "full"(some tools also have "more"）。
