About this skill

create-goose-graphics

Purpose

Generate styled graphic frames for video scenes using the installed goose-graphics skill and npx gooseworks style catalog.

Use when a programmatic video needs polished still frames or visual motifs such as pillow-block cards, branded endcards, or scene-specific graphics.

Inputs

  • Visual brief for each needed frame.
  • Target style slug, defaulting to pillow-block for Gooseworks-style block graphics when appropriate.
  • Format/aspect requirement, usually 9:16 story for short-form ads.
  • Output directory for HTML and PNG exports.

Workflow

  1. Confirm the goose-graphics skill exists at the installed path and load it when invoked.
  2. Discover current style/format availability with npx gooseworks styles list or search; never assume community slugs exist.
  3. Fetch the selected style spec with npx gooseworks styles get <slug>.
  4. Generate HTML frames that obey the style spec, video aspect ratio, and scene content.
  5. Export PNGs using the goose-graphics Playwright screenshot pipeline or equivalent browser screenshot flow.
  6. Record the style slug, source prompt, HTML path, PNG path, and any deviations in the run manifest.

Output

  • Styled HTML frame files.
  • Exported PNG frames.
  • Style/spec notes copied into the production manifest.
  • manifest.json and verification.md for test or production runs.

Quality Checks

  • Style slug was discovered/fetched rather than assumed.
  • Output dimensions match the requested video format.
  • Text is legible and does not collide with frame edges or other elements.
  • Graphics are usable as final video frames, not just storyboard placeholders.
  • If pillow-block is used: flat squircle tiles, off-white canvas, no shadows/gradients unless the fetched spec allows them.

Failure Modes

  • goose-graphics skill or npx gooseworks is unavailable.
  • Requested style or format slug does not exist.
  • Screenshot renderer dependencies are missing.
  • Exported PNG is blank, wrong aspect ratio, or visually inconsistent with the fetched style.
