Skill Linker

Install

Run the install script:

bash scripts/install.sh --root <path>

The install script will:

• Automatically install fzf
• Write SKILL_LINK_ROOT
• Install the shortcut command skill-link
• Write to the rc file of the current shell
• Under bash it will detect whether .bashrc is loaded by the login configuration; if not loaded, automatically append source

SKILL_LINK_ROOT must contain:

• skills/
• rules/

Interactive mode

skill-link

• Enter keywords to search
• Tab multi-select
• ←/→ switch target Path
• Enter link or unlink

Non-interactive mode

skill-link --list --target cursor
skill-link --target cursor agents-chat-bridge chinese-language.mdc

Agent workflow

1. The Agent first determines the target Path based on the editor currently in use.
2. Determination rules: Cursor uses cursor, Claude Code uses claude-code, Codex uses codex。
3. Only when the current editor cannot be determined, use AskQuestion to let the user choose the target Path.
4. Run skill-link --list --target <path> to get the candidates and status.
5. Use AskQuestion to display the candidates, and allow_multiple: true。
6. Run skill-link --target <path> <name...>。

The switch behavior executed for the selected items:

• Currently linked to the same source: unlink
• Not currently installed: create a symlink
• The target already exists and is not the same symlink: error out and stop

Environment variables

• SKILL_LINK_ROOT: root directory of the local skill/rule source

The target Path is fixed to:

• ~/.cursor
• ~/.claude
• ~/.codex
