When to use this skill
Use this skill whenever the user wants to:
- Write or maintain browser automation tests with Selenium WebDriver
- Locating elements, waits, multi-browser and CI integration (such as Grid)
How to use this skill
- Environment: Install browser drivers (ChromeDriver/GeckoDriver) or use Selenium 4 Manager; use the corresponding language bindings (Python/Java/JS, etc.).
- Script: driver.get, find_element, click, send_keys; explicit/implicit waits; screenshots and cookies.
- CI: Headless mode or Grid; parallelization and reporting (such as Allure).
Best Practices
- Use explicit waits instead of sleep; prefer id, css, and relative locators.
- Test cases should be independent and repeatable; take screenshots and logs on failure.
- Use configuration for sensitive information and URLs; match Grid and version.
