When to use this skill
Use this skill whenever the user wants to:
- Write or debug CloudFormation templates (YAML/JSON)
- Create and manage AWS resources (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.)
- Configure CloudFormation stacks, nested stacks, stack sets
- Use CloudFormation best practices to implement infrastructure automation
How to use this skill
- Template structure:AWSTemplateFormatVersion、Description、Parameters、Resources、Outputs。
- Workflow: Create stack → Update stack → Delete stack; use change sets to preview changes.
- Nested stacks: Encapsulate repeatedly used resources as nested stacks to improve reusability.
- Cross-stack references: Share resources between stacks through Export/Import-Value.
Best Practices
- Use YAML format instead of JSON to facilitate version control and Code Review.
- Use Parameter + NoEcho or Secrets Manager for sensitive information, and do not hard-code it in templates.
- Use Mappings and Conditions to implement environment-specific configurations.
- Prefix stack names with the environment (dev-, prod-) to avoid conflicts.
