Used for visual effects, character effects, and audio effects in the CapCut "Effects" panel. Effects must be bound to explicit resources, target ranges, and rollback snapshots.
When to use
- Search for visual effects such as trending, basic, dynamic, atmospheric, light, retro, and natural.
- Apply character effects or audio effects, and adjust public parameters.
- Inspect, replace, or delete existing effects.
Capability boundaries
- ✅ Can do: catalog lookup, parameterized application, inspection, deletion, and restoration of scene, character, and audio effects.
- ⚠️ Requires conditions: character effects need an applicable subject; official resources need entitlements; look and performance need playback verification.
- ❌ Should not use: do not guess parameter ranges, do not disguise filters/adjustments as effects, do not cross protected shots.
Quick start
You can say directly: "Add a TV glitch effect to 1–2 seconds", "Add rim light to the character segment", "Delete the global effect causing stutter". First use loads functional flow。
Execution contract
- Trigger conditions: the user requests lookup, addition, parameter adjustment, replacement, or deletion of visual, character, or audio effects.
- Required capability:
media.catalogue、media.enums、timeline.effect、media.sfx、media.official_resource_apply、timeline.remove。 - Minimum CLI version:
1.6.19; fixed-catalog effects can be executed directly, while official online effects are still subject to receipt and Adapter gating. - Default risk:
reversible_write。 - Input facts: effect category, slug/resource ID, target object, start/end range, parameter range, layout, purpose, and entitlements.
- Confirmation points: confirm separately when using professional/limited-free resources, overwriting character appearance, writing to an existing draft, or performing native playback.
- Success evidence:
playback; a catalog hit or the existence of material cannot prove look and performance. - Prohibited actions: do not mistake character effects for ordinary global effects, cross protected segments, guess parameter ranges, or use the whole-film default range to conceal missing input.
Workflow
Step 1 — Select category
Select a scene/character/audio category from the catalog, and save candidates and parameter definitions.
Step 2 — Obtain resources
For official resources, preview, verify entitlements, and register downloads first.
Step 3 — Apply
According to functional flow , execute within the explicit range of an isolated draft.
Step 4 — Verify
Read back materials, tracks, and parameters, and check for flicker, subject misidentification, and stutter through proxy/native playback.
Step 5 — Restore
If it does not pass, delete the single effect segment or restore the snapshot.
Rules
- Category, slug, parameters, range, and target type must come from the catalog and the user's plan.
- If there is no explicit range, first generate a reviewable plan.
- Character effects must not automatically extend to unauthorized characters.
- Report only actual playback and performance evidence.
Gotchas
- Confusing scene and character effects: first determine the apply target type.
- Guessing parameter scale: use only the range declared by the catalog and normalize it.
- Misapplying to the whole film: stop when the range is missing; do not default to the entire film.
- Treating resource cache as authorization: the existence of a cache does not prove that the current purpose is allowed.
- Effect succeeds but playback stutters: after structural verification, playback and performance checks are still required.
Security and Data
Do not upload videos or personal data; when online special-effect analysis is required, an exact Provider, material summary, purpose, and authorization must be bound.
