About this skill

DeckCraft Presentations

Use the DeckCraft MCP tools provided by the host to perform continuous editing. If the host is not connected to MCP but deckcraft-cliis installed, use its existing CLI. The plugin and this skill do not install the CLI, nor do they implement a second editing engine.

Getting Started

  1. Confirm the source file, output location, target format, and whether modification is allowed as specified by the user; inspection tasks are read-only.
  2. Prefer to call list_commands to view currently available commands and parameters, or run deckcraft-cli commands and deckcraft-cli describe <命令ID>. Whether a command is available is determined by the current tool output; do not infer from copying static examples.
  3. For the MCP path, continue using the connection maintained by the host within the same task. Headless operates on private presentations by default; use desktop mode only when the user explicitly requests connecting to a running desktop application and the host has Remote configured. Do not close the user's desktop process.

Creating and Modifying

  • For new presentations use new_presentation; when more pages are needed use add_slide. For existing presentations use open_presentation。
  • Before complex edits, first read the current ID, parameters, and enabled status of list_commands , then call run_command。batch only for a set of commands whose ordering and failure semantics are clear.
  • After each round of modifications, call inspect_document or inspect_slide to read back text, page count, and objects; when visual judgment is needed, call render_slide。
  • To save use save_presentation, and prefer to keep the editable .deckcraft source file. The CLI path can use deckcraft-cli run、info、render and convert; parameters are subject to the current deckcraft-cli output.

Delivery and Exceptions

  • For export use export, and check the return value and the target file. Verify the results for PPTX, PDF, and images separately; do not claim that all formats are losslessly equivalent to the source presentation.
  • After a modification operation times out or the connection drops, first reopen or inspect the existing presentation and report the confirmed state; do not blindly resend modifications that may already have been executed.
  • When the CLI is missing, MCP is not connected, or a command is unavailable, state the exact prerequisites. Do not install tools, or start or take over the desktop application, without user authorization.
  • At delivery, provide the actual results of the source presentation, exported files, structural read-back, and visual inspection; mark checks that were not run as not run.
