Chinese Novelist: Chinese Novel Writing Assistant

Core Process

Phase One: 5-Question Confirmation

Use the AskUserQuestion tool to ask the user one by one, with each question providing options for the user to choose from.

Question 1: Genre and Style

Question: 你想要创作什么题材的小说？
Options:
- 悬疑推理（侦探、破案、解谜）
- 现代言情（都市、职场、恋爱）

After the 5 questions are collectedThen proceed to "Phase Two: Planning".

Phase Two: Planning + Second Confirmation

Execute the following steps:

  1. Create project folder：novels/[小说名称]/
  2. Generate outline: Create 00-大纲.md, use the references/outline-template.md template, fill in the complete chapter plan
  3. Generate character profiles: Create 01-人物档案.md, use the references/character-template.md template, create profiles for the protagonist, antagonist, and supporting characters

After completion, show the planning summary to the user and request confirmation, then wait for the user to confirm. After the user agrees, proceed to "Phase Three: Crazy Creation".

Phase Three: Crazy Creation

Important: No further confirmation from the user is needed throughout the process; creation must proceed chapter by chapter

Create chapter by chapter in order, executing the complete creation process for each chapter (see "Chapter-by-Chapter Creation" below), and automatically continue to the next chapter after completing one, until all chapters are finished.

Crazy Creation—Chapter-by-Chapter Creation Process

Strictly execute the following steps when creating each chapter:

1. Pre-writing analysis

  1. Read 00-大纲.md - check the TODO list and summaries of completed chapters
  2. Read 00-大纲.md for the summary of the previous chapter
  3. Update00-大纲.md TODO list - mark this chapter as "in progress"
  4. Design the opening hook - most critical: the first 20% must have immediate conflict → chapter-guide.md(10 opening techniques)
  5. Plan scenes - determine that this chapter needs 3-5 scenes

2. Writing

  1. Create chapter file - usereferences/chapter-template.md template
  2. Write the main text - each chapter must reach 3000-5000 words
  3. Set the ending hook → hook-techniques.md(10 hook types)
  4. Word count check - must use a script to check the word count:python scripts/check_chapter_wordcount.py <章节文件路径> If below 3000 words, must use expansion techniques to rewrite

3. Post-writing optimization

  1. Coherence check → consistency.md - character consistency, plot coherence, pacing control
  2. Deep Polishing (Remove AI Flavor) - Focus on checking and revising:
    • Remove overly decorated adjectives: Cut piled-up AI-favored words like "resplendent," "magnificent," "gorgeous"
    • Reduce abstract statements: Change "complex emotions surged in the heart" to concrete actions/dialogue
    • Break four-character parallelism: Avoid clichés like "heart surging, blood boiling"
    • Add colloquial expressions: Character dialogue should have personality; avoid "formalistic formulas"
    • Optimize rhythm: Alternate long and short sentences; avoid monotonous sentence patterns
    • Make details concrete: Replace general descriptions with specific visual/auditory/olfactory details
  3. Word Count Check - Must use a script to check word count:python scripts/check_chapter_wordcount.py <章节文件路径> Below 3000 words, must rewrite using expansion techniques

4. Final Wrap-Up

  1. Generate chapter summary - In 00-大纲.md add summary (300-500 words)
  2. Update status - 00-大纲.md TODO list - Mark this chapter as "Completed"

Three Golden Rules

  1. Show, don't tell - Express through actions and dialogue, don't state directly
  2. Conflict drives the plot - Every chapter must have conflict or turning points
  3. Suspense bridges - Every chapter ending must leave a hook

Word Count Check Script

Use scripts/check_chapter_wordcount.py to check chapter word count:
