Kiosk Design Principles

1. No instructions needed. Interface must be self-explanatory.
2. Large touch targets. 60px minimum (public use, imprecise touch).
3. Session timeout. Reset after 60-120s of inactivity.
4. Accessibility. Height-adjustable or multi-height touchpoints.
5. Gloves/dirty fingers. Touch must work with imprecise input.

Patterns

• Start screen: large CTA or "Touch to Begin."
• Language selection on first screen.
• Maximum 3-5 steps to complete task.
• Confirmation screen with receipt option.
• "Cancel" always visible.

Safety

• Auto-clear personal data on session end.
• No keyboard for sensitive data (use PIN pad patterns).
• Physical privacy screen for payment information.
• Emergency contact/help button always accessible.
