About this skill

Book

Write a book. Not a report, not a digest, not the minutes of a debate.

The debate, if it exists, is optional input. This skill does not replace it and does not reopen it. If the user does not yet have a dispute between schools and wants one, stop and point to debate. Then, if you want the volume, come back here.

Do not be lazy with the input. Without a full reading of the named sources, there is no outline.

When to use

  • Request for a book, ebook, volume, "write a book about"
  • Extract a book from an already closed debate (Debate - …/)
  • Extract a book from notes, article (transcricao), thesis, or question
  • Four Views literary (one reading, then whoever responds to that reading)

When NOT to use

  • Mediate three schools (debate) — here debaters are not introduced
  • Preachable sermon (sermao)
  • Transcribe video (transcricao)
  • Digest, summary, or "single chapter that covers everything"

Principles

  1. Throughline before prose. Without a throughline of ≤20 words and without a destination for the volume, no chapter is written.
  2. Read the input for real. Debate: protocol, synthesis, verdict and all turns. Notes: every named file. Bare topic: research recorded in raw/pesquisa.md. Do not outline from memory or from the map alone.
  3. Each unit has a job. Chapter: it begins, it moves, it lands. Paragraph: a local thesis, evidence, a close that prepares the next. Between units: therefore or but, never and then.
  4. Whoever wrote it is not the only eye. A developmental editor and a source checker are isolated subagents (or, at minimum, a pass after the draft, against the text, not against the intention).
  5. Do not invent. If the input is a debate, do not add a thesis the turn did not sustain. If the input is something else, do not invent a quotation, datum, or doctrine.
  6. Destination ≠ school winner. A book of views sits on the questions that carry the rest and on what that does in the church, unless the user asks for a doctrinal judgment.

Prose detail: references/prosa.md. Structures: references/estruturas.md. Bench: references/bancada.md.

Intake (before creating a folder or drafting)

Run references/intake.md with a structured question. Without the answers, stop.

Field Required? Default
Theme (one sentence) yes —
Input yes bare topic (then research is the first job)
Reader yes smart believer, no diploma
Thread (≤20 words) + volume destination yes —
Structure yes (confirm) quatro-pontos if the input is debate; otherwise propose
Language yes Brazilian Portuguese
Destination folder yes Livro - <tema>/ in the cwd
Authorization to write yes —

Do not mix the debate folder with the book folder. The debate stays where it is. The volume is another folder.

Artifacts

<destino>/
├── indice.md # porta: pergunta, fio, leitor; aponta livro/_index.adoc
├── livro/ # AsciiDoc: _index.adoc + um .adoc por capítulo
└── raw/
├── 00-brief.md # fio, leitor, destino, insumo, estrutura
    ├── pesquisa.md # o que foi lido, o que falta, fontes
    ├── outline.md # emprego e destino de cada capítulo
    ├── reverse-outline.md
    ├── edicao.md # desenvolvimento + linha
    └── curadoria.md

Copy the skeleton from templates/. Fill it in; do not leave placeholders. Destination = what the user asked for, otherwise cwd. No absolute machine paths.

Included chapters start at ==. Subsections at === (do not skip a level). [[id]] unique, starting with a letter. Glossary at the end, before the index. Title = Tema: subtítulo (the second line of the header becomes author — do not use it). Title page: the question and, if it fits, voices, in an [abstract]. No [dedication], no author page, no "how to read this file".

Cycle

intake → pesquisa (ler o insumo) → brief + outline
  → rascunho (um capítulo-piloto, depois o resto)
→ editor de desenvolvimento (reverse outline)
  → revisor de linha
  → checagem de fontes
  → copydesk (idioma, glossário, notas)
  → compile + curadoria

Do not skip research. Do not skip the reverse outline. Do not declare the volume ready just because the AsciiDoc compiles.

1. Research

Record raw/pesquisa.md (templates/pesquisa.md).

  • Debate: read 00-protocolo.md, sintese.md, veredito.md and each turnos/*.md. Note theses, concessions, dangers, load-bearing texts. The synthesis does not replace the turns.
  • Notes / articles: read each file that the intake named, in full.
  • Bare topic: research (Scripture in the thread; secondary sources with references). Record what was opened. A gap becomes a question, not a guess.

Without this record, the outline is a guess.

2. Brief and outline

raw/00-brief.md: thread, reader, destination ("after these pages the reader can…"), structure, what the volume is not .

raw/outline.md: for each chapter, job (what it exists to do) and destination (what the reader should be able to say at the end). The sequence of chapters must be therefore / but. A chapter that merely "also deals with" gets cut or changes job.

If the outline does not sit on the thread, redo the outline. Do not write on top of a crooked map.

3. Draft

Start with a pilot chapter (not the preface: a middle chapter). Reverse-outline that pilot (references/prosa.md). Only then write the rest.

One .adoc per chapter, long enough to sit and read. Language of the brief (default pt-BR). Unavoidable technical term: note at the first occurrence and entry in the glossary.

Paragraph and chapter contract: references/prosa.md. Do not stack theses. Do not circle.

4. Bench (mandatory)

Follow references/bancada.md. At minimum:

  1. Developmental editor — subagent who did not wrote the chapter. Reverse-outline of the volume. RETRY if the chapter doesn't sit right, if the sequence is and then, if the thread disappears.
  2. Source checker — every biblical claim with load: does the text say what the sentence asserts? não → RETRY of the chapter. Allusion without book-chapter-verse → complete.
  3. Line editor — old→new, one thesis per paragraph, real connective (not just “moreover”).

Save the pass in raw/edicao.md and raw/reverse-outline.md.

5. Copydesk and production

  • Use Brazilian Portuguese when pt-BR is requested (avoid European Portuguese vocabulary such as “ficheiro”, “ecrã” and “de facto”).
  • Glossary + first-occurrence notes
  • asciidoctor livro/_index.adoc
  • [[id]] unique; xrefs resolve

6. Curation

raw/curadoria.md (templates/curadoria.md). Without that the volume didn't close. PASS / PASS with WARN / RETRY. Whoever wrote is not the only eye.

Scripture

Every biblical claim cites the source in the thread (Jn 12.31; Jgs 11.12). Naming the book or the episode is not enough. Do not invent a reference.

What does not go into the volume

Briefs, research, outline, reverse outline, editing, curation, pane names, Herdr, T01, steelman. That stays in raw/. The book's reader does not watch the process.

If the input is a debate: no “at this table,” “the essay just read,” “we were hearing him,” courtroom jargon. The order of the four viewpoints is pedagogy, not pact.

Anti-patterns

  • Compiling the book inside debate
  • Outline without having read the turns / the notes
  • Chapter that lists topics instead of going up a step
  • Paragraph without local thesis (block of loose sentences)
  • Sequence and then between sections
  • The same agent as sole editor of its own draft
  • Inventing thesis, quotation or datum
  • Digest, single markdown, or chapters too short to sit and read
  • Assembly instruction in the volume
  • [dedication] or author page in generated volume
  • Choosing a school's winner in a book of visions without the user having asked
  • Delivering without raw/curadoria.md and without compile

Checklist

  • Intake (topic, input, reader, thread, destination, structure, language, destination, authorization)
  • raw/pesquisa.md with sources read, not listed from memory
  • Brief + outline: use and destination per chapter
  • Pilot chapter reverse-outlined before the rest
  • Developmental editor isolated; reverse outline of the volume
  • Claims' sources checked
  • Glossary + first-occurrence notes
  • asciidoctor compiles; xrefs resolve
  • raw/curadoria.md PASS or PASS with WARN
