Start the snapshot release of the PR linked to the current branch or check its results. For detailed commands, polling, execution identity, permission checks, and result parsing, follow the Snapshot Release runbook.
Applicability conditions
- Used when newly triggering a PR snapshot or continuing to check a snapshot that is already running.
- The target PR and the current PR HEAD SHA must be determined first.
- For wait-only requests, do not post a
/snapshotcomment. - Only an explicit trigger request is treated as approval to post a comment. For ambiguous requests, show the local state and confirm.
- Before posting a comment, verify the authenticated account and the permission basis corresponding to one of
OWNER,MEMBER,COLLABORATOR. If it cannot be verified, do not post. - Reuse the run, artifact, and result comment only when the workflow metadata's repository, PR number, source-sha, control-sha, run-id, and run-attempt match the current request.
- If the current PR HEAD has changed, or the metadata is missing or does not match, do not report the previous result and use a new run.
Result
On success, report the 📦 Snapshot Release body and tarball URL linked to the same run. On failure or cancellation, report only the failed steps and the partial results linked to the same run.
