About this skill

/study-plan
  1. Load ~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal-zh/law-student/CLAUDE.md → exam type (objective/subjective), exam date, weak subjects, daily target study hours, training courses.
  2. Load ~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal-zh/law-student/study-plan.yaml(if it exists).
  3. Apply the following framework.
  4. Route by flag:
    • --build(default when there is no plan): go through the input gate (exam, subjects, hours/week, rest days, method). Build the phase structure + the first two weeks of daily scheduling. Write to study-plan.yaml。
    • --update(default when there is a plan): re-read session_history, adjust subject priorities and weekly hours, fill in the next segment of daily scheduling.
    • --status: what is scheduled for today/this week, score trends, slipping subjects, each subject's next scheduled practice.
    • --cram: forced cram mode — 80/20 high-value priority, daily objective question volume, taper in the last 2-3 days.
  5. Before writing: summarize the plan in words and confirm with the student. Adjust based on their answers.
  6. Always check weekly hours against the student's stated life constraints. Overly ambitious plans fail.

Purpose

Sitting down to study but not knowing what to study is how time disappears. This skill builds a plan — weeks until the exam, number of practice sessions per day, subjects per week, practice types — and then adjusts as the student actually completes practice. It is a living plan, not a calendar export.

It also provides a shared schedule for downstream skills (bar-prep, flashcards, drill, irac) to follow, so the student is not asked "what do you want to study today" every time they open a practice session.

Confidence Discipline

A plan is an opinion, not dogma. The skill clearly states what is an estimate:

  • Per-topic time estimatesare general guidance (based on the weights typically used in bar exam training courses). Label them as estimates — the student's real pace will differ.
  • Subject weightingcomes from the student's own reported weak subjects and practice history. Confident.
  • High-value topic priority in cram modeis based on the subject frequency distribution of past bar exam questions. Label any assertion that "this will definitely be tested" as [不确定——历年频率不是确定预测]。

Load Context

~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal-zh/law-student/CLAUDE.md:

  • Exam type (objective/subjective), exam date
  • Current courses (for non-bar exam use)
  • Weak subjects (objective, subjective)
  • Training courses
  • Daily target study hours

~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal-zh/law-student/study-plan.yaml(if it exists) — extend, do not overwrite.

Workflow

Step 1: What are we making a plan for

What are we making a plan for?

  1. Bar exam(you have a target exam date)
  2. A law school final exam or finals week
  3. General semester study rhythm(outlines, reading, training for all courses)

For (1) bar exam: read the exam date from the practice profile, confirm. If no exam date is recorded, ask. For (2) law school final exam: ask which course, what date, what format. For (3) semester: ask for the semester end date as the anchor.

Step 2: Input — one at a time, wait for each answer

Ask, then wait for the answer. Do not cram all the questions into one prompt and then continue.

  • Exam date: Confirm? (If it's the bar exam: if no province is noted in the practice profile, ask — the study content depends on the province.)

  • Subjects to cover: For the bar exam, read the subject scope for that exam type from the Ministry of Justice exam outline. For a course, the syllabus. Confirm with the student — "Is there any subject I should add or remove?"

  • Strongest subjects: Lowest priority. Still review, but do not drill heavily.

  • Weakest subjects: Highest priority. Get more practice.

  • Available hours per week: Realistic, not aspirational. "I can do 20 hours" is different from "I will do 20 hours for 8 weeks straight." Ask what they can actually sustain.

  • Life-context sanity check — mandatory. After the student gives a number, ask (one question at a time — do not skip):

You said [N] hours per week. Before I build, tell me what else you have each week — work (hours/week), family (kids, caregiving), commute, exercise, therapy, clinic practice, anything meaningful. The plan should fit your life, not the other way around. A plan you cannot follow is worse than a lighter one you can.

Wait for the answer. Then sanity-check the stated hours against their reported load:

That's about [X] hours per day, on top of [work + family + commute + other]. In my experience that is [realistic / tight / unsustainable]. Do you want to adjust the weekly hours target before building, or keep it as is and see how the first week goes?

Even if the practice profile's daily target hours were already recorded during initial setup, do not skip this step. The profile records what the student said; the life-context check records whether it is sustainable. If the check produces a lower number, build the plan with the lower number and note the adjustment in the confidence_flags block.

If the student refuses to share life context ("just build it"), respect that — but add a confidence_flags entry: "Life-context check declined; the plan assumes [N] hours/week is sustainable. Revisit at the end of week 2 if completion rate is below [X]%."

  • Preferred study method: Multiple choice. Objective-question practice / subjective-question practice / flashcards / outline organization / drilling / rereading. Schedule toward the way they say they will actually do it.

  • Weekly rest day: Rest days matter. A plan scheduled 7/7 days will collapse by week 3.

Step 2.5: Supplement vs. replace (training-course users)

If ~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal-zh/law-student/CLAUDE.md → 培训课程 isRuida、Houda、Zhongheor another structured training course (i.e., not 自学 or 不适用), the student already has a training institution's schedule. The plan for this skill must choose one of two roles—it cannot run a full parallel course alongside the training course without the student collapsing.

Ask, one question, wait:

Your practice profile says you are enrolled in [Ruida / Houda / Zhonghe]. They will publish a schedule of every subject and every task each day. This plan can run in two ways—pick one:

  1. Supplement. The training course is the main course. This plan fills the gaps: extra objective-question training for weak subjects, targeted subjective-question practice, and flashcard cycling for topics you missed. I will not rebuild the training course calendar; I will overlay on top of it.
  2. Replace. You are not following the training course calendar (perhaps because its pace does not fit your life). I will build the entire plan—subjects, hours, phases, scheduling—and you drop the training course calendar.

Do not choose both. Running two full courses at the same time is exactly why students collapse in week 4.

Waiting for the answer. Record it in yaml as prep_course_mode: 补充 | 替代。

IfSupplement: the plan's daily schedule is lighter—it only adds training for weak subjects and targeted practice, and does not duplicate the training course's coverage. In confidence_flags note: "Supplement mode—this plan assumes you complete the main coverage at [training course]'s pace. If you fall behind in the training course, tell me, and we will replan."

IfReplace: build the full plan in the way specified below.

If the student's training course is 自学 or 不适用, skip this step—there is nothing to supplement.

Step 3: Build the schedule

Calculate the number of weeks from today to the exam. Then:

Normal mode (4+ weeks):

  • Divide the weeks into phases:
    • Study phase(first ~60% of time): one subject every 3-5 days, mixing outline organization/reading with flashcards and a small amount of new-learning objective/subjective questions.
    • Training phase(middle ~30%): more objective-question volume, more subjective-question practice, mock exam conditions, rotating through all subjects.
    • Review phase(final ~10%): focus on the weakest subtopics in session_history, full mock exams, and light review of strengths.
  • Allocate subject weight by weakness: weak subjects get about 2 times the hours of strong subjects.
  • Schedule by day: which subject, which method, how long. Leave margin for the student's real life.

Crunch mode (< 4 weeks):

  • Note: "You are less than four weeks from the exam. This is crunch mode—the plan prioritizes high-scoring topics over full coverage. You will leave gaps. This is the tradeoff at this point."
  • 80/20 priority: the law exam subjects that historically appear most frequently (Civil Law, Criminal Law, Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure) get the largest share. Narrower subjects get the minimum viable coverage.
  • Daily schedule: an objective-question block every day (volume matters now), subjective-question practice every other day, and a mock exam once a week.
  • The last 2-3 days are for sleep and tapering. Do not schedule high-intensity training the day before the exam. This is true—students who cram all night score lower.

Step 4: Write

Write to ~/.claude/plugins/config/claude-for-legal-zh/law-student/study-plan.yaml:

Step 5: Confirm with the student

Title — required every time it is presented in chat and on any standalone written plan document saved alongside the YAML. The first line of the summary must be the verbatim study notes title from the plugin configuration ## Outputs :

STUDY NOTES — NOT LEGAL ADVICE(学习笔记 — 非法律建议)

The title is not placed inside the YAML (that is a data file), but it belongs in the written summary you show the student and in any readable plan document you save alongside the YAML. This is not a after-the-fact disclaimer — this is the identity marker of the output. Do not omit, rewrite, or relocate it.

Before saving, summarize the plan in text (not raw YAML), with the title at the top:

STUDY NOTES — NOT LEGAL ADVICE

This is what I built. [X] weeks until [exam]. [Y] hours/week, [Z] days/week. Weak subjects (Criminal Law, Civil Law) get 2x the hours. Three phases: study until [date], train until [date], review the last [N] days. I have already scheduled the first two weeks day by day. After that it is a weekly allocation — I will fill in the daily schedule as you complete practice, so the plan adapts to your actual progress.

Does this feel right? Too ambitious? Too light? Missing a subject?

Adjust based on the answer. Then write.

Adjust the plan

After each practice session (via bar-prep-questions, flashcards, drill, irac), the corresponding skill appends to session_history:

session_history:
  - date: 2026-05-08
    subject: 刑法
    type: 法考-客观题
    n_questions: 10
    score: 6
    weak_subtopics: [共同犯罪, 刑罚裁量]

On the next /law-student:study-plan --update run (or when any skill detects the plan is outdated):

  • Subjects with consistently low scores are escalated in priority and weekly_hours .
  • Weak subtopics within a subject are flagged in that subject's next scheduled practice.
  • If the student has fallen behind (scheduled practice does not appear in history), adjust: either compress coverage or note the gap and ask.
  • If the student is ahead, free up time for deeper weak-subject training.

Modes

--build(default) — brand-new plan --update — re-read session_history and adjust weight allocation, fill in the upcoming daily schedule --status — what is going on today/this week, how are score trends, what is slipping --cram — force cram mode even if more than 4 weeks out (user override)

Skill integration

  • /law-student:session <科目> <n> writes results into this plan's session_history。
  • /law-student:bar-prep-questions reads the plan to know which subject is scheduled today.
  • /law-student:flashcards can --session <n> and results are entered into the plan.
  • /law-student:socratic-drill and /law-student:irac-practice practice completion is also appended.

What this skill does not do

  • Guarantee you pass. The plan is a framework. The work is on you.
  • Predict the exam. Cram mode uses past-year subject frequency; high score value ≠ guaranteed tested.
  • Replace your training course schedule. If you are following Ruida/Houda/Zhonghe, this plan can supplement — do not run two full courses at the same time. Use one as the main course.
  • Schedule your life. The available hours are what you told me. If you exaggerated, the plan will break in week 2. Be honest.
