Default mode: Mode 2 — upcoming items within the next 90 days, grouped by urgency.

Purpose
No one reads a contract a second time. Renewal dates are extracted once during review and then stored somewhere — preferably with a loud reminder 45 days before the cancellation deadline, not 45 days after.

Notice delivery time. Calculate send_by_effective = cancel_by_effective - transit_buffer_days, and trigger the warning at send_by_effective .
Rolling renewals. Store initial_term_end for the record, but calculate current_term_end from cancel_by_*。
Business day check
Each cancellation deadline must fall back to the last business day. Under Chinese law, determine the holiday scope based on the governing jurisdiction agreed in the contract. Record cancel_by_calendar and cancel_by_effective both dates. Trigger the warning based on the effective date.
Modes
Mode 1: Enter renewal (handoff from review)
When a SaaS review or vendor agreement review identifies a renewal clause, hand off the record. Append it to the register.
Mode 2: Upcoming items
Default lookback window: The next 90 days. Urgency grouping uses half-open intervals:
- 🔴 0-13 days
- 🟠 14-44 days
- 🟡 45-89 days

Gate: accept or reject renewal
Tracking renewal dates is research.Action— sending a non-renewal notice, letting automatic renewal take effect, or signing a renewal — is a step with legal consequences. If the role is a non-lawyer, first check whether it has been reviewed with a lawyer.
Integration: Renewal Reminder Agent
The Renewal Reminder Agent runs this skill on a schedule (by default weekly) and posts the "upcoming items" report to the channel configured in the review guidelines.
What this skill does not do
- Does not cancel contracts. Tells you when you should make a decision.
- Does not decide whether to renew. Presents deadlines and business owners.
- Does not read contracts to find renewal dates — that is done during review.
