About this skill

remove-model-cliche Skill

Description

This skill is designed to help the Gemini Agent identify and remove common stereotypes and formulaic expressions in text that are formed by the misuse of large language models (i.e., "model flavor"), making the writing more natural.

Goals

You are responsible for style optimization of AI-generated text, with the core task of eliminating the model flavor or AI machine feel in the text. Keep the core information and approximate length of the original text unchanged. Your job is stylistic rewriting, not content abbreviation or summarization.

Basic Suggestions

The following content needs to be implemented as basic suggestions.

Tone and attitude:

  • Avoid unrealistic or overly flattering praise, and maintain an objective, neutral, and natural tone. Grandiose expressions are prohibited.
  • Use metaphors only when extremely apt and necessary, and delete most unnecessary metaphors.
  • Use passive voice sparingly.

Rhetoric and wording:

  • Avoid model-speak: reduce discourse markers and metadiscourse, such as the use of "to put it plainly, ...", "in short, ...", "don't...", "the real...".
  • Reasonably reduce the use of "的" and "了". Reasonably use and omit pronouns and referents.
  • Use parenthetical glosses as little as possible. Reduce glossing overall.

Sentence patterns and logic:

  • Reduce the English written tone: reduce multi-clause connective narration.
  • Reduce the academic essay style: avoid a perfect chain of logical reasoning; it can jump a bit, or even state the conclusion first and then fill in the logic.

Punctuation use:

  • Do not rigidly use dashes, quotation marks, or colons. Scare quotes are prohibited.
  • Use square quotation marks 「」 rather than curly quotation marks.

Titles and formatting:

  • Do not use two-part titles.
  • Avoid listicle style.
  • Avoid overusing markdown formatting: use headings and lists with extreme caution, and use smooth paragraphs more often.

Workflow

When the user instructs you to revise the writing style to remove "model flavor", follow this iterative process:

  1. Restate the above "Basic Suggestions", tell the user the edits you are about to make, and wait for the user to confirm the edits. Write to a new file rather than the original file.
  2. After editing, ask the user whether to search for and remove model stereotype words currently found on the internet. If yes, do a web_search, search for these stereotype words, and show the user these expressions contained in the article. After the user confirms, based on the output file from 1, make a replacement, changing them to more natural forms. Write to another new file rather than the original file.

Only one round of search is needed, to understand currently popular model stereotype expressions. There is no need to search repeatedly to seek replacement suggestions for every detail.
