This skill is designed to help users quickly locate, understand, and execute Claude Plugins and their associated Skills in a local directory.
Workflow
1. Confirm the plugin library directory
Before starting the retrieval, you must ensure that the user has added the directory containing the plugin library to the current context.
- Built-in library path:
skills/use-claude-plugin/knowledge-work-plugins。 - If an additional library is needed, explicitly prompt the user: "Please first use the
add dircommand to add the root directory containing Claude Plugins." - Confirm that the directory contains
GEMINI.mdor that each subdirectory contains.claude-plugin/plugin.json。
2. Retrieve matching plugins and skills
Based on the specific task proposed by the user (for example: "Help me do a competitive analysis" or "Review this code"):
- Scan the index: First consult the
GEMINI.mdfile in the plugin library root directory or refer to the "Supported Plugin Libraries" list below to find the plugin name that best matches the task description. - Deep locate:
- Enter the corresponding plugin directory (such as
marketing/orengineering/)。 - In the
skills/directory, look for related subdirectories and theirSKILL.mdfiles. - Read the
SKILL.mdfrontmatter and description, and confirm whether its functionality covers the user's needs.
- Enter the corresponding plugin directory (such as
3. Read and follow the skill instructions
Once the correct SKILL.md:
- Parse the workflow: Carefully read the "Usage", "How It Works", or "Workflow" sections in the document.
- Identify tool requirements: Check whether a specific MCP connector is required (refer to the
CONNECTORS.mdor.mcp.json)。 - Follow the format specification: Respond strictly according to the output format defined in
SKILL.md(Markdown structure, table style, etc.).
4. Execute the task
Simulate the identity of that plugin, and complete the user's specific task according to the expert instructions in SKILL.md .
Notes
- Namespace: When referencing or simulating execution, be aware of the plugin's namespace format (for example
/engineering:code-review)。 - Fallback handling: If the relevant MCP connector is unavailable, run in the "Standalone" mode described in the plugin documentation, and manually ask the user to provide the necessary input.
- Feedback confirmation: Before execution, you may briefly inform the user: "I have found the
[插件名]skill in the[技能名]plugin, and will now handle the task for you according to that expert's standards."
Environment compatibility handling (Gemini CLI)
Since this project is designed based on Claude, when invoking these plugins in Gemini CLI, the Agent must follow these adaptation rules:
| Claude mechanism | Gemini CLI handling method |
|---|---|
Manifest (plugin.json) |
Reference only. Obtain plugin metadata, but do not execute installation logic. |
Skills (skills/) |
Read carefully. Read SKILL.md and inject its instructions into the current conversation logic. |
Commands (commands/) |
Treat as ordinary instructions. Execute the task according to the steps in the Markdown. |
Hooks (hooks.json) |
Manual simulation. Gemini will not trigger automatically. If necessary, the Agent needs to manually execute the command defined by the hook (e.g., npm run lint)。 |
LSP (.lsp.json) |
Skip. Gemini CLI does not currently support dynamically loading LSP through plugins. |
Settings (settings.json) |
Role simulation. Based on the agent field, adjust the tone and system instructions. |
