Marp Slides Creation Assistant

Skill Overview

This skill provides a systematic multi-stage Marp presentation creation workflow, from workspace initialization to final draft output. For Chinese presentations, it additionally includes a Chinese language standards review stage. All analysis reports, first drafts, review documents, PNG exports, and final drafts are stored together in the project work folder for easy management and traceability.

Supports multiple theme styles: Built-in 14 selected themes, covering academic, business, creative, and other scenarios. See themes/README.md。

Core Principles

Slides Design Principles

Principle	Description	Key Points
One point per page	Each page covers only one core idea	Avoid information overload
Visual hierarchy	Title → Key points → Details	Use bold, lists, and quotes to differentiate
Ample white space	Content should not exceed 60% of the page	Give the audience room to breathe
Concise text	No more than 8 lines of text per page	Keywords are better than complete sentences

Content Density Control

Title page: Main title + subtitle + author information
Content page: Title + 3-5 key points (1-2 lines each)
Comparison page: Two-column comparison, no more than 4 points per column
Summary page: 3-5 core key points

Seven-Stage Workflow

Strictly follow the process below, and ask the user for confirmation after each stage:

Stage Zero: Workspace Initialization and Theme Selection (Preprocessing)

Trigger: Execute immediately when the user requests slide creation

Execution Steps：

Determine the project name：
- Determine the project name based on the topic/file name provided by the user
- Use a short English or pinyin name, connected with hyphens
- Example:academic-writing、ai-introduction、product-launch

Create the work folder structure：

Stage 1: Content Analysis and Digestion

Trigger: After the workspace is created, the user provides input files (PDFs, papers, documents, notes, etc.)

Execution Steps：

Initial Reading: Use the Read tool to read the input file and understand the overall structure
In-depth Analysis：
- Extract core arguments and key information
- Identify the logical structure (problem-solution-conclusion / current state-analysis-recommendation, etc.)
- Mark important data, citations, and cases
Content Classification：
- Core viewpoints (must include)
- Supporting evidence (selectively include)
- Background information (simplify or omit)
Outline Generation：
- Determine the number of slides (10-20 pages recommended)
- Plan the topic and content density of each page
- Design the narrative flow

Theme Adaptation (automatic adjustment)：

Different themes have different requirements for title formatting, and when creating slides you must automatically adjust according to the theme:

beam	`#` (h1)	h1 is displayed in the blue bar at the top
academic	`#` (h1)	h1 is used for the page title
jobs	`#` (h1)	h1 has a special underline style
graph_paper	`##` (h2)	Standard h2 title

Other Themes	`##` (h2)	Use h2 by default

Special handling for the beam theme：

The first # (h1) on each page is automatically displayed in the blue decorative bar at the top
The title page uses the  directive
Content pages directly use the # title (not ##）

Must include centering styles: The frontmatter's style must include the following CSS, otherwise images and tables will be left-aligned:

Reason: Marp's base CSS sets section table { display: block; width: max-content }, and most custom themes also set table { width: 100% }, both of which cause tables to fail to center. You must use !important to override all three properties display、width and margin at the same time for it to take effect.marp-template.md already includes these styles.
Modify Header/Footer: Adjust according to the presentation topic
Create page by page：
- Follow the page types and formats in the template
- Strictly control the amount of content per page
- Use appropriate Markdown formatting (bold, quotes, lists)

4. **中英文混排规范**：
   - 中文与英文/数字之间加空格（如：Claude Code 是工具）
   - 全角标点与英文之间不加空格
   - 技术术语保持一致（如：API、SDK 等全文统一）

5. **Slides特有检查**：
   - 标题是否简洁有力
   - 要点是否用词精准

Phase Five: Issue Fixing and Final Draft Confirmation

Trigger: Receive all page inspection reports

Execution Steps：

Issue Classification：
- Overflow Issues: Text exceeds the page → split the page or streamline the content
- Density Issues: Too much content → delete or reorganize
- Format Issues: Layout errors → correct Markdown
- Readability Issues: Text too small/too dense → adjust the hierarchy
Fix one by one: Use the Edit tool to modify slides_[项目名]/02_drafts/presentation.md, for each issue:
- Page-splitting strategy: Split one page into an "overview page" + "details page"
- Simplification strategy: Remove secondary information, keep the core
- Reorganization strategy: Adjust the information hierarchy and use a more appropriate page type
Re-verify：
- Convert again to PNG to 04_exports/
- Quickly check the modified pages
- Confirm the issues have been resolved

Generate final draft: Copy the fixed file to 05_final/ and export the final version:

- --allow-local-files: Allow loading local images and resources
- --theme-set ./themes/: Load the custom theme directory
- --pptx-editable: Export editable PPTX (requires LibreOffice installed on the system)
- PDF is suitable for printing and distribution
- PPTX is suitable for further editing in PowerPoint/Keynote
Note：--pptx-editable requires LibreOffice Impress to be installed on the system. If not installed, you can install it using Homebrew:

Interaction Guidelines

After each stage ends, ask the user whether to continue
