Growth Quality Check Skill

Data dependencies and execution preconditions

It is recommended to use Wind wind-mcp-skill to obtain the underlying data. Before execution, first check whether there is already a local wind-mcp-skill; if not, prompt the user to install:

Skill positioning

This skill is used to judge whether a company's growth is trustworthy. The output focus is not merely on whether the growth rate is high or low, but on decomposing where the growth actually comes from, whether it brings better profit and cash, whether it is sustainable, and at which link it is most likely to stall.

Execution process

Step 1: Confirm the growth proposition to be tested

First clarify which kind of growth the market is currently discussing:

  • High revenue growth
  • High profit growth
  • Structural high growth of a certain business segment
  • Recovery growth after distress

Different types of growth have different judgment criteria, and one set of logic cannot be applied universally.

Step 2: Decompose the sources of growth

Decompose growth into explainable sources, rather than stopping at the aggregate number:

  • Volume growth or price growth
  • Expansion of old products or contribution from new products
  • Organic growth or merger consolidation
  • Driven by a single major customer or broad improvement across multiple customers
  • Boom tailwind or company share gain

The goal of this step is to identify the quality and purity of growth.

Step 3: Test whether growth is accompanied by profit and cash improvement

High-quality growth is usually not reflected only in revenue; one should also observe:

  • Whether the profit margin improves simultaneously
  • Whether expense spending is out of control
  • Whether cash collection keeps up
  • Whether inventory, receivables, and capital expenditure rise abnormally

If growth relies on aggressive price concessions, channel stuffing, or large overdraft of cash, the judgment should be significantly downgraded.

Step 4: Judge the sustainability of growth

Reason backward from the perspective of sustainability:

  • How long the current growth driver can last
  • Whether there will still be equally strong catalysts in the next year
  • Whether there are problems such as a high base, demand brought forward, or subsidy phase-out
  • Whether supply changes in the industry will weaken growth quality

Step 5: Identify the most likely stall path

Any growth logic must answer "where is it most likely to break first." Focus on:

  • A single product cycle peaking
  • Decline of a major customer
  • Intensified competition leading to price giveback
  • Boom inflection point or policy change

This part is to distinguish "temporarily fast" from "truly sustainable."

Step 6: Give a growth quality rating and tracking framework

The final output should answer:

  • Whether this company's growth quality is high
  • In which aspects the high quality is reflected
  • What verification indicators should be watched most closely next

Quality Requirements

  1. High growth does not equal high quality; the sources and costs must be broken down.
  2. Do not look only at revenue growth rate; also see whether profit and cash are realized in tandem.
  3. Distinguish one-time boosts from sustainable growth, and avoid linear extrapolation.
  4. The risk section should describe the most likely stall path, rather than vaguely warning of 'intense competition'.
  5. The final conclusion should help judge whether the growth is worth paying a higher valuation for.
