About this skill

fig-pptx

Turn an already accepted academic diagram into an editable PPTX. The text is text boxes, and the image layer underneath does not contain this text. The source PNG is not modified.

Entry

Start only when two things are both true: the user has accepted the image, and explicitly asks for an editable PPT.fig-draw A positive answer to a post-delivery question also counts as an explicit request.

  • The image has not been delivered yet, or the user has not answered whether they want a PPT: stop.
  • The user is not satisfied with the image: stop. Hand off image revision to fig-draw. After it is revised and delivered again, fig-draw asks again.
  • This is a result image whose data point shapes must be preserved, not a diagram: stop, and explain that this path will redraw the frame and icons.

Steps

  1. Read references/layers.md. Completion condition: the cutout background color, the prompts for the three image layers, and the layout.json field all follow that page.
  2. Create a new run directory in this skill directory, and copy the source image into it. Completion condition: the source file itself has not been rewritten.
  3. Use an image tool to look at the source image, then generate the background, frame, and icon sheet. Completion condition: all three layers are newly generated images; no patch was cropped from the source image, and no cards, charts, or icons were drawn with shapes or code.
  4. Run scripts/pick_font.py --styleaccording to how the text looks in the source image, write the printed family into each font, then run the cutout, slicing, validation, and compositing commands in references/layers.md . Completion condition:pick_font.py exits with code 0,layout_guard.py --strict exits with code 0, and writes out .pptx. When comic-style text lacks Comic Neue, the script installs fonts-comic-neue and then selects it; when other styles list the installed fonts and exit, stop, and do not switch to another font category.
  5. Open the composited preview and compare it side by side with the source image once. If text covers icons, or the same sentence appears twice, modify layout.json and composite again. Then stop. Completion condition: deliver the path of .pptx , and explain where it still differs from the source image.
